Sorry for the lack of videos lately! Here is a recent offshore trip with brook and her dad out of Hillsboro inlet, Florida. We started the day by cast netting ballyhoo and catching blue runners for live bait. We then saw schools of tuna and mackerel working the surface. We ended the day with a few drifts and caught some kingfish, lost a sail and caught a monster barracuda.

I appreciate you taking time to make a wonderful video! Brings back fond memories! I hated to see you put back that Barracuda. you talk about GOOD! Big thick steaks! Wow. and you can't beat them smoked, either! That Barr would have fed your whole family two or three times! On another point, I notice that you dont know the tricks of de-hooking. Two things you can make that will make hook removal plum easy! Take a heavy wire coathanger and open it up. You'll need a pair of stout needle-nose pliers. Bend the end on a close hook, with an opening about 1/8 with the hook 1/2 long. The rest of the wire will lay across your fingers and will bend to where your little finger, ring finger, and your bird finger will be inside the byte of the wire handle and your first finger be outside the byte and wrap the wire around itself and squeeze closed and cut off. Wrap some electrical tape around that spot for safety. The straight wire, lays next to the base of your fingers at your palm and goes on out 4 to the hook you made to start with. That hook will be on the same plane with the finger insert, and the hook aiming back toward you. Now when you catch a catfish or other fish that you dont really want to grab, hold the line, about 4 from the mouth, and hook the hook on the tool you just made, thru the byte of the hook in his mouth and stretch the two apart, suspending the fish in the middle. Pick a spot for him to land and swing the fish's tail away from you, to start with, and when he starts back, swing him over in a complete circle, keeping the line and your hook tool taunt and he will come off the hook and land in the spot you threw him. I learned that, about fifty years ago from an old professional fisherman friend that lived on Big Pine Key, Fla. There's that one and then take a 3/16 piece of stainless steel round stock and bend it into a finger loop on one end and 8 long. Heat the cut end and beat it down flat and cut a groove in the tip and put a slight V groove in it. (You can also use an 8 standard flat screwdriver. To use it, you hold the line, and put the V knotch in the byte of the hook, in the fishe's mouth and push, while holding pressure on the line. The fish has to be laying on something or squeezed between your knees. Theyre very easy to make and easier to use. One coathanger will make 3 de-hookers. My Dad made one for each quadrant of the boat and put them on steelon leaders so they would always be there and not go over the side. Hope everyone makes a set.

Absolutely love the video, great stuff as always. Shout out to Brian man, he's great. He seems like a very genuine guy, I'd love to fish with him. Good stuff Vik, I've been kinda bummed that you haven't posted much, but no worries because this video was well worth it.

Great video. Heading to the east coast this weekend to go offshore off Hollywood Beach. I don't get offshore very often, so am looking forward to a change of pace from inshore fishing.

When that cold front came through up here in Central Florida, it came with 60 mph winds, 1/4 hail, and horizontal rain. But man, was the weather ever nice for a few days after.

What I dd when catching ballyhoo with the current into the wind, was put the chumbag off a kite, and I could get the ballyhoo to the back of the boat.

I have been stabbed by those leather jacks in many different occasions, and it actually doesn't hurt much, to me anyways.
