In this episode we're searching for a wild new species that I've never heard of. and we're doing it on the fly. We'll be exploring a gorgeous, pristine river in Oklahoma doing some fly fishing for freshwater drum, smallmouth bass and the elusive (and bizarre) river redhorse. Then we're cooking up our catch! james: Redhorse look very similar to Barbel that we have in the UK; but I've never heard of anyone trying for them on fly. They are normally fished with worms/meat or cereal bait. Does anyone know if the species are related?

Yer as bad as me, when I look at my girl ahead of me, her butt is in focus. The camera REALLY shows that. Probably shouldn't follow her with the GoPro.
To be fair, I'd follow that too. (Sorry Jen. and Victoria. she'd kick my ass, possibly both of them. LOL)
Edit: Drum are mushy and bony. they taste okay beyond that. Was never a fan.

If only you had longer arms it would be look bigger. thanks for the adventure and I think you need to invest in a Leatherman, I have had one since they came out. It works for everything. Stay safe

These shallow water river episodes always remind me of my adventures when I was a kid wading into whatever body of water I could find. Great episode, buddy and congrats on the horsey!

Grew up eating a lot of white bass wiper and drum. They all tasted pretty similar to me. Everyone always looked at us like we where crazy and told they're nothing but trash fish.

The American native carp. Kinda crazy. if they had left the common and grass carp in the old world the suckers would be the only carp-like fish we would have here in North America

It has to be asked. How many fisherman does it take to land a sucker? That was pandemonium! Great fishing in Oklahoma rivers!
