In this episode, I'm meeting up with Matt Scotch for another kayak fishing trip on the Brazos River in North Texas. Our target is big bass, both smallmouth and largemouth, but there are striper and crappie in this shallow stretch of river

I would buy off karls but I only fish saltwater and during winter I just cod fish, so I use 8-15oz hammered metal jigs or knocker rigs and they simply don't carry the size of terminal tackle I use. I'd they did carry it I would buy it off their site. As it stands it's easier to make my own leads and jig heads to the size I need with molds. Plus making hammered jigs is so much cheaper than buying them, it costs me 3 bucks to make a 8-10 oz jig vs the 20 or so they charge for quality gear.

That's my spot Robert. Love that stretch of water. They will be letting trout out for the fly fisherman in January. Last March I caught a 6 lb Bass and a four-and-a-half pound bass just down from the canoe rental. The 4 lb Bass barfed up a 8in trout. Also in August we witnessed hundreds of dead striper just below the dam. You could smell it from the parking lot. Those catfish have got to be fat.

Great video Robert! Always enjoy the river fishing videos. Wish the Brazos wasnt so far away from me. Im closer to section below Whitney, PK is almost 3 hours for me. Matt had me laughing at that release of the big striper lol I was thinking yall should have thrown it in with those crappie if it didnt swim away but it was playing possum.

Love seeing the alternate rigs! Was out today fishing Walley and caught SIX (6) fresh water drum in under an hour on walleye jerk baits. You can't always choose what you catch, but you can always LOVE the catching! #robertfield

I really have enjoyed your vids on fishing the Brazos with Matt. I'd love to be able to get him on an overnighter below PK down to Rochell's. That would be an epic trip! Keep up the great work!
