Modular MEGA Case, Wooden Fractal North Competitor, & In Win Design Studio Tour

This unique opportunity allowed us to tour the design center and factory for computer hardware and case manufacturer In Win, allowing us to see not just the new Mini-ITX ModFree wood case, the Dubili cases, and the POC 1 case, but also the entire design studio where it's all concepted and prototyped. This unprecedented access to the design facilities and team has enabled us to give a behind-the-scenes look at how computers are made, fresh from #Computex. Video shot in Taoyuan, Taiwan. In Win has been making computer cases for a long time, but it's trying fiercely to have a Lian Li-style break-out moment and become a major player in PC DIY, including and especially in the mini-ITX market.

No champagne and gold, they are nice to look at first but then it's too much bling, bling; maybe some hip hopers or new rich want those to exhibit wealth. The greys, black and white ones are cool but lose the kiddy paintings, unless you are doing a collaboration with some brand. One thing that I noticed is that In Win, is more focused on esthetics than on functionality; why not improve air flow, dust intake, noise, size and then after try to improve esthetics? Modern designers, architects only think on esthetics and then make the engineers try to solve the shite they create, they only are worried to make a name for themselves, trying to look artistic. Then wonder why people don't like modern cities and objects and like classy old buildings and objects.

When it comes to cases I think what matters more than the customer feedback is feedback from parts manufacturers, like the champagne case would look amazing with like a titan V or the msi graphics card they did a while ago, like as a costumer I'd love to have a gold themed pc but if the parts on the market don't work with a case design then I'll probably buy a different case since hand painting parts is effort.
I think case manufacturers should talk more with motherboard and gpu manufacturers to determine if a unique design will work with anything that other companies do like asking them if they are thinking about making pc parts in champagne colours or anything else.
Otherwise the standard black and white will always be the smallest risk.

So this is where ugly gamer-aesthetic cases are born, but also some nice stuff too. I'd like to see beautiful or even neo-sleeper cases but nobody is making that. Instead its all fake angles and wannabie mecha chiq stuff and RGB. The wooden case has the right idea, but I want beige and purple plastic or something that looks like an MSX or an X68000. I love molded plastic, and I really hate and distrust painted metal. They always feel so tacky and it scuffs and scratches too easily. If you do painted metal, go gloss and wax like automotive paint even if its matte grain, christ -- this stuff looks like construction equipment.

I have a nanoxia case from 2013 that is still going strong and handling all the latest hardware, keeping it cool and quiet. It even has drive bays for my dvd and bluray drives and an internal cage for my nas array. This thing wasnt necessarily built for future proofing, but that's exactly what it has done. (All this mainstream stuff we take for granted today was extremely rare back then..NAS, local streaming, quiet cases, high airflow, filters everywhere, cable management, slots for water cooling, fan controls, etc.)
What ever happened to THAT company anyway?

Seeing all this is amazing..
As for the champagne colours, if I had the choice of 'generic black' or the champagne.. I'd pick the champagne every day. Built from home cases always want to look different from others. The 'black box' look is just the same as most cases on the market. Love the look of the Dubili with the Orange accents too..
I'm looking for a new case after having to bend my roof panel Of my Meshify-C (1st gen) to fit my cooler over my RAM modules. These cases look awesome so going to see if I can get one.

The champagne color case looks good, the main issue is that it's kind of hard for it to fit in. Black and white go well pretty much anywhere, livelier color work fine as an accent, and playful colors have their own niche. In my opinion, the main reason to buy the champagne colored case over other colors would be that you have an interior that matches colors with the case, and you want the case to be on display, but not very obvious. It feels like there are too many prerequisites for it to make sense.

maybe for the champagne color they can do some quarterly small reruns sure its nit a mass market type of color since everyone will just blare aRGB with it losing the appeal. but I would want to see some niche cases with 5 and a quarter bay theres barely any manufacturer who do them mATX cases anymoreI got a fractal design pop because they are ironically easier to get compared to the cooler master masterbox m600

Inwin look like the coolest company I've never paid much attention to. Their Modfree stuff looks like something I might want. It would be cool to build a computer desk out of actual computers. The Poc stuff also looks cool. They should mix the concepts and provide more colour full Modfree modules and maybe provide some of the leather straps that are secured with the studs that snap together.

Yes on the champagne color.
I currently have a white In Win case in my living room.
Had champagne been an option I certainly would have considered it.
Sometimes cases need to be a little more classy when they are part of the room decor.
_Not every computer enthusiast is 14 years old and wants Transformers or Hello Kitty design theme cases._

I am personally not interested in champagne colored stuff, but what I've never seen (yet?) are cases in a super-black like vantablack or similiar. So you can't even see the shape of the case itself.
Now if you combine that with intelligent placed colored lines and highlights, you might as well get some trippy looking cases. I'd love that!

While I love the aesthetic of the champaign case - it's not something that matches with my blackout setup - though if I ever make it large enough to justify a second studio set, a unique color scheme would definitely be something of interest - though wood paneling was more appealing since I can work it in well with more colors.

This was awesome! Love that there are true artists in the design room, and I love the idea of, basically, an origami small form factor case. Seems like an efficient use of materials and space, easy to set up, and with Steve s suggestion of just poking more holes, could be ventilated well enough for hotter chips nowadays

I'm rocking an In Win N515 Nebula Ultra Edition case. People always ask me what case it is when I bring it to LAN parties. I've had the In Win 101C before and my next case will definitely be another In Win case! The only downside is that there are usually zero to no cable tie down points anywhere.

Primer coat so I can do my own painting. Some one could do their own custom candy apple red with hotrod flames or air brush a Warhammer 40k scene with kit bashing models to the case. Offer a custom wrap option that customer can design on site for those that are not as skilled or time restriction in life.

Some cool cases! I used In Win's Sirius Loop fans in my first ever PC build a couple years ago and I loved them. Upgrade-itis hit and I put in some BeQuiets (among a lot of other things) but those Sirius Loops were still going strong and are now waiting to go into my friend's first PC
