Sony - I bought a Vista.
It's left joystick stopped working.
They gas lit me until warranty expired. Then wanted more postage to repair in Japan then buying a new one.
Plus wanted to sign a no guarantee it could be fixed and they didn't need to send it back if they didn't choose to!
Then PSN account got hacked.
Months of trying. The same personal info as to get a passport wasn't enough for them!
It was still linked to phone and for years I'd get flooded with PSN update SMS to account, - please use these magic numbers to authenticate.
(Got a new phone in the end)
Also the bank account I used for Vista, would get spammed with buying Sony gamer cards from Argentina.
Ended up closing bank account to stop the spam after no help from Sony...
Tried that Minecraft like, build stuff for next EverQuest game on Steam.
Game never left Alfa...
But my account got hacked, my username for changed to squiggles and letters my keyboard doesn't have.
Months later, other game accounts using same eMail address got hacked with same looking squiggly letters. (That starforge MMO was only Id played in years at the time)
I got FF MMO starter pack on Steam...
Never managed to get a PSN account linked, can't refund game.
I actually CHK to see if it's a Sony game on Steam, and just don't buy it.
Kinda sad, H divers looked like fun.

Everything I've seen points to Sony alone being at fault with the HD2 fiasco. Arrowhead, at absolute worst, seems to be guilty of ineffective communication and extreme naivete about business and customer interactions, and I demand to know who among us hasn't at some point been naive about how people/business actually work The fact that Arrowhead released a free cape OF THE REVIEW BOMBING ITSELF in HD2 should help convince that their hearts were in the right place and they were on our side on this.
Direct your anger and venom towards Sony, not Arrowhead. Trust in HD2 might still justifiably be lacking, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing what Arrowhead comes out with next (preferably without Sony as publisher), money in hand, because they seem like the kind of developers I want my dollars to go towards.

To be fair Sony said we are still learning WHAT IS BEST FOR PC PLAYERS, they have only been in the PC space for a few years so I don't think it is fair to take it out of context and apply we are still learning to games industry in general, console players tend to be a lot more accepting of getting shafted than PC players so I can certainly see how they weren't expecting so much backlash. However they should probably just have asked how PC players would react to it, or in all likelihood just listened to what the devs were probably telling them the backlash would be, but executives think they are all knowing and inevitably get everything wrong without ever learning from it... which does make the we are still learning part more than a bit dubious.

As much as I agree with most of the stuff around the Helldivers nonsense, I could never get behind the hate wagon due to the fact no one seems to care when every other company does it. Hell, I pointed out to multiple groups how games such as Rocket League and Fallguys are quite literally, 100% unplayable on Steam now, regardless of buying it, due to Epic buying the companies and then going, Hey you guys should come over to EGS. It's better. And their responses were all boiled down to, Ya, but Epic is good. If Epic can do it with games that were absolutely never planned to do it and not get even half the hate Sony got, then I just see no reason for the complaints against Sony for doing it to a game which was always planned to have it.

still learning huh that doesnt get any less unbelievable (and unintentionally hilarious) the more you read it. they are still going ahead with other games they publish probably, they'll just make offline games also have to sign up. this one they picked a game which isnt all about pvp and instead about working together to achieve things... oops. they now learned one thing: they must examine every game and its community (if it has one) and avoid trying this with such games and communities in future to boost their numbers artificially and lie to the shareholders in a quarterly report. sorry, mislead them with inflated statistics.
i may also still have ad&d monster manual somewhere. hardback.

The thing with Helldivers 2 is worse than I've seen ANYONE in the media talk about. They knowingly sold the game to people who would, after the change, be both unable to continue playing, and be unable to get a refund due to time played. All the regions the game was barred from on Steam were selected by Sony. They knew when making the game available for sale in those regions in the first place, that those same regions were ineligible for PSN accounts. So they took money from people they KNEW they shouldn't have been. That's about the closest definition I can think of for calling something fraudulent.

Hard to feel bad for Intel. They should know full well manufacturers - Board and system - Want to segment their products, that doing so means there will be boards/systems with crappy power/heat management systems/components. Intel should have invested in developing actually good processors or set initial guidance making clear to OEMs/customers crappy, cheap systems are not viable with Intel's current blast furnace-worthy processors. Some of the blame also belongs to board/system manufacturers - Their marketing should be including clear, obvious warnings trying to stuff an i9 K/KS processor on a

Well, given that the game is provided by STEAM,it is safe to say that the STEAM is the one that doesn't protect the interest of their customers.
I will NEVER AGAIN,BUY (means obtaining something, and having a legal right to KEEP IT,by monetary transaction) a digital copy of ANY game, because it leaves ot solely on the hands of your government,if your right to actually OWN what you payed for,is going to be enforced,or not (and we obviously can see that the gov's. payoffs are selling the rights of their people,to the highest bidder...

... well congrats MS, you've done what an army of fedora wielding redditors smugly saying I use Arch you know were never able to do. hell, you convinced me to do something even LTT couldn't convince me to do. you've convinced me to switch to Linux Mint and never look back.
seriously, OS level AI that couldn't be removed without messing with the kernel was one thing, but OS level ads! nope. nuh-uh. no way. f#c! you MS, may you forever rot in hell, i will NEVER touch Windows again.

Intel shouldn't stop motherboard companies from doing anything in general, what Intel does need to control is default behavior. The default should be the settings and performance Intel markets their CPU to deliver and guarantees, that is what default settings need to be.
THe real issue is that legally Intel has been doing a bate and switch, they want to sell CPUs based on overclocked performance without having the legal requirement to guarantee overclocked performance.

To be fair, the previous baseline BS wasn't an official measure in any way and was simply a leak while talking with partners while they put together something official. It's still a mess, but it's not like they're continuously changing the profiles, only the wording.
The nomenclature takes me back to how so many outlets were making fun of saying 10900K like it's ridiculously long but magically 7995WX just rolls right off the tongue

Sony is such a twerp. They wanted account linking to implement heavy handed policing of a relatively healthy community which serves its productive members with very little fault or drama. There is absolutely no safety or security concerns, and in fact the only safety they are probably concerned with is fee fees in the periphery of the active playerbase.
It's not money.
Someone there drank the Kool-Aid a little hard.

on the helldivers situation, the game is still blocked from purchase in 170 countries and most of us are waiting till this is reversed to switch our reviews back to positive. piratesoftware has been advocate for this, and i wholeheartedly agree.arrowhead is getting kicked in the balls financially by sony for no reason and we want to see arrowhead get what they deserve for making a great game that we love.

I'll just say I think if you're going to work at a AAA studio as an executive, they seem to want you to be well versed in destroying an existing or new IP at a moment's notice.
It must be a job requirement to know how to lose money this spectacularly. No other reasonable explanation for how these companies keep doing everything wrong while having everything they need to make the project a success.

I got a refund for Helldivers 2, and I will never rejoin Helldivers 2 or buy a PS Studios game ever again. Because it isn't about this one specific situation, it's about the idea that I'm REQUIRED to register outside of the platform I'm on. I won't compromise on this.
Were just poor old little Intel I agree with of those adjectives. All of them, if you define little as small-minded, which I do.

Good thing I recently downgraded to Windows 10 and have decided to stick with it until EOL. Might pay either the extension fee or switch to Linux again. (Was using Mint for a few years and had to switch to Windows for accessibility reasons. But my symptoms have sufficiently improved that I could probably use Linux again.)

its sad that anyone still uses windows 10 or 11.
i personally ditched microsoft when 10 was announced.
7 was good but it no longer works...
i do not regret switching to Linux and no amount of money could get me to switch back. i definitely recommend Pop!_OS for gamers wanting a way out of windoom 10 or 11.

Sony willingly and knowingly sold the game in regions they wouldnt support and then after getting their money they chose to change their mind
Somys own website specifies linking play station accounts is not required on pc yet the game was such a huge success they couldn't help themselves

Steve, you're one of my favorite people, but you're misrepresenting helldivers. It was in the Tos DAY ONE that PSN would be required to be linked. They pushed it off because of the disastrous launch. In this case you're just following the blind outrage of the sheeple who can't read.

Sony, 74 year old company with 30 years of experience in the given field is still learning...do they have dementia now Seems like it.
I needed the D&D rant, our group didn't meet this week.
The TT merch is going to be a Steve mini as a dwarven artificer, calling it now.
