Honestly, I've come around to conclusion that there's no real reason people should be complaining about the price of any flagship GPU because it's all just for gaming.. it's a totally superfluous luxury commodity item. It's like complaining at the cost of the bets golf clubs at your millionaires country club. If you want this hobby, you're going to have to pay for it. If you're a casual gamer, you can still play all and any game just fine at lower settings.
The place where the price of a 5090 actually seems more than fair, is in productivity. If you're a 3D artist or an animator for a large company (or, actually, if you wanted to do 3D modelling as a hobby and work on your own movies it seems like a quality hardware investment too) I used to do work in 3D during the early 2000s and even rotating wireframe meshes was barely possible in real time! Sticking the quality up to max and doing an offline render will take significantly less time with this upgrade along with the 32GB of new, faster vRAM is a fabulous addition for application work.
As for the AI.. I don't understand any of it at all, but I'd assume AI researchers are going to be super happy about all of the updates to those areas as well. Not sure if all of these components are necessary for gaming. Could any money be saved by stripping out the unimportant parts relevant to gaming Gaming related AI would be DLSS and neural texture compression.

Back in the 1990's when the first 3DFX Voodoo cards were kicking around, they were a pricey buy... at like 200 bucks, then 150 as prices dropped.
We were selling white box computers systems at the time to community colleges, and we bought them at cost from our supplier... to play Quake multiplayer on the LAN where we jumped around in bunny suits and wiped the floor with rocket spam. So we were kind of like on the bleeding edge. Never in our wildest dreams would we think gamers would be so st00pld as to buy a 2,000 dollar video card. It's just not... sane. I don't care how much a person likes gaming, spending 1000 bucks for a video card is not rational or sane. You're not making money with it. My first Nvidia cards were TNT's and TNT2s... and those were like $30 a piece... bought in quantity as pulls from DELLs, so I could play GTA2 on my own LAN back home.
As a former game developer myself, I kind of look with dis gust at gamers of today. I got out developing games because I just couldn't stand the players any more... as I had to beta test every change I made in the game myself with other players bouncing around. I got to meet them up close and realized, I did not want to be making anything for these spoiled entitled shoebox kids.

It's also worth noting through my testing.
DLSS or FSR only works really well in Performance modes if you have a fast enough CPU, because the CPU then becomes the bottleneck again as you are rendering at 1080p instead of 4k, which means the GPU is waiting around for the CPU again. This is something I never hear people talking about, if you natively play games at 4k, you really don't need a top top processor, but if you use upscaling Technology you will need one.
Which basically means I think once people buy these 50xx cards and try and upscale to 4k, unless they have a 9800X3d or 7800x3d, they are just not going to see the performance they were promised and are going to be really angry.
So some food for thought.
Please make sure when you Test these AI GPUs you all do some testing with low and mid range CPUs to show the drop off when using upscaling as it does make a big difference.

So, I guess, it is not going to fit in the standard size case. If you get bigger case and install it, you won't be able to use any PCI slots in your PC because they will be blocked by the GPU. It will require some kind of structural braces to support GPU's weight. You will also require to upgrade wiring in your house so you could run PC with Kilowatt power supply and additional AC unit to keep your room cool when you running your PC. Way to go fellas. I still remember those days when making things smaller and more efficient was a matter of engineer's pride. The only solution modern developers use is to make things bigger, put more stuff in it and feed it with more power.

If AMD wants to win back market share, I would suggest that they dump RT, they dump FSR, and they just make fast raster based cards. I want actually fast cards. I will buy actually fast cards. I will not buy shitty DLSS/FSR frame gen based garbage. At the same time, I am making it clear about games I will and will not buy... if they are slow and require upscaling to run well then they will not get my money. It seems there are a lot of people like me. Its time we made our voices heard... and the best way to to that is with our dollars to amplify them.

I think it would be interesting if you could show us what 30x frame generation would look like. I think this would be one of the best ways to explain why frame generation does not provide the same quality as an actual frame rate. What exactly would it look like if you were getting 120fps but 116 of those frames were due to frame generation
I think a most gamers who don't keep up with the technology have trouble understanding why frame generation is a poor substitute for actual real time performance.

do they include powerplant for its use ... rly after many and many years in industry I think the technology we are using is not only crap (its to bulky even if core structure seems sophisticated (and its cindof is)) but all of this because of everything in our current iteration of civilisation is basin on purposely flawed concepts. We seems to see this as good and sophisticated (like a progres) but its all because we all are born in this civ. introduced concepts and we dont know anything better

So the specs looks like they have vergotten to design a real 5080 and renamed the 5070 ti as 5080 and so on. Hmm remembers me a bit of the 4080 12GB Desaster but this time there is no big 80 Card.
And at FarCry there is only RT on, no Framegen, so the RT cores are improved the uplift in raster seems to be relative poor. Specially at the 5070 which is compared to the 4070 .. I wouldt be surprised if it couldn’t beat the 4070 Super its more like something I would expect from a 5060

Let’s see I have 2 gaming rigs, one gaming rig has a I9-10900k with a RTX 3060 12 GB.
The other gaming rig is a I9-11900k with a 4070 Super 12 GB.
Both I built. One of which I’m thinking of selling (I9-10900k with 3060).
Would getting a 5070 be worth it to replace my 4070 Then I’d put the 4070 in place of the 3060, and sell the 3060 separately.
I’m not sure yet. Anyone have thoughts on this
Should I get the 5070 to replace my 4070 Super

Guys, one issue I haven't seen addressed... The DLSS 4 since it'll have triple FG, will Nvidia give us the option to reduce FG down to 1X like the 40 series, 2X or 3X I think it's kind of important issue. Tripple fake frames the latency is going to be way above the 40 series, undoubtedly. No matter how much they're going to improve DLSS 4. To make my point simple, I'd like a 5060Ti but with 1X FG, unlike 3X.

its hideous... the more i see new offerings the happier i am with my 3090 and 3080ti. i play darktide at the highest difficulty, frame generation can get you killed. The power draw on this new stuff is too high also. I dont think I want anything to do with the xx90 anymore. If they drop a 5080ti that does well without frame generation and has at least 16gb vram ill take a look.

Please include testing with frame generation off. I have no intention of playing a game full of AI hallucinations, so I need to know if I'll ever have reason to buy a team green card again.
And before someone comments, I play rhythm games, so it doesn't matter how good the generation is, I need every frame real for the timing to be real.

What’s the point of all this AI stuff I use Lossless Scaling on Steam for my 3080 which can do frame gen, and it works fine in games that I can only run at 60fps or below (very few). Most games I run at 120fps or more so I rarely use LS. AI should be there as a last resort FPS boost, not the main selling point.

The ability to override games into using the right DLSS model is huge, and should definitely be the standard going forward. The weak link in the upscaling tech is and always has been the individual game devs not having the resources (or in some cases, the desire) to correctly implement it and keep it modernized.

What I want more than anything is Ray Tracing / Path Tracing to be viable without DLSS and without frame gen. Their marketing materials show full RT in cyberpunk running at 27fps. When it can run path tracing at 60fps without frame gen or DLSS then maybe I will consider upgrading. No smear, no fake frames

Just ridiculous stingery with the memory. All I hope / can't wait for are the dudes dumping their 4090's to get the 5090, maybe we'll be able to get the 4090 somewhat affordable. 5080 sounds good but that memory pool is going to be a huge downside. Might as well go for a 4090 IMO.

Will you be bench testing all the 5090 variants for noise across their range I built a PC and love it, but i used a temporary GPU in 2023 waiting for a 5090. Its quite loud (Radeon 6850 i think). Im thinking the liq suprim, but i might need to go from fractal north to the XL to fit it.

Not sure what the intent was for the 2-slot design 5090, but for sure that's going to leave the floor open for partner model cards to hit much high power/frequency targets. I honestly like this move. I would expect 5090 overclocking on partner cards to be pretty insane.
