Best PC Airflow Cases of 2020 So Far: 60 Budget to 200 High-End

In this video, we're talking about some of the best cases currently available, but with our focus entirely on the top thermal performers. The goal is to compare gaming PC cases for best CPU or GPU temperatures, best noise-normalized temperatures (or acoustic performance), and best build quality at each price class for 2020 so far. This includes cases that have come out in previous years, so our criteria was centered around cases available right now rather than only things that have launched recently, since it's not like cases age on the shelves. We'll run another piece on the best and worst cases toward end of year, and that'll be a wider-scope look at computer cases for different categories. In this one, we're talking about budget cases, mid-range cases, and high-end cases, which we've split into 60 to 80 cases, sub- 100 enclosures, and cases north of that. We're comparing the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh, the P500A, NR600, Phanteks P300A, be quiet! Pure Base 500DX, Cooler Master TD500, and more.

My experience has shown that the enemy of every pc is dust. It clogs up fans faster than you can say it. Same goes for vga cards, I really hate trying to clean the fans and heatsinks on them. I remember opening up a case about 20yrs ago to discover that the fan on the video card had not only seized up from the dust, but had fallen off! So good airflow is great, but having a case that is great at filtering that air is damn hard. I still have a ten yr old Corsair Obsidian 600D that I have seal up all cracks and holes with tape to keep the dust out. With some success.
I'm now on the hunt for a new case (albeit smaller) that is better than my current case.
It seems to me that there are cases that have great airflow, but few that stop the dust.
So anyone who knows which is the best case to cater for both crucial points, but also has great features, I'm all ears!

I have purchased the Arctic liquid freezer II 280 mm AIO after your review on them and have it installed in my Coolermaster MB600L , getting the rad installed was a total pain in the front of the case and i have now noticed my GPU temps creeping up way beyond they used to be due to the restrictive radiator.
I have tried to find a new case that supports the thick Arctic liquid freezer up in th top of the case but have come up Blank nearly all cases only support a 240mm rad .
Do you have any idea on a case with good airflow and supports the fatter 280mm arctic cooler Top mounted in the case so i can have the front fans to help keep the GPU cooler when gaming/streaming ? ( my pc is my gaming and streaming pc ) ( ryzen 5 3600x , asus B450 f gaming , 32gb corsair vengence 3200 ddr4 , gigabyte gtx 1660 )

Pc cases have to be some of the worst examples of engineering, in the diy pc market. You have fan mounts that block a large part of the exhaust. Mesh that offer great airflow but poor dust filtration
One of the biggest issues is cases that don t provide a proper seal and have holes that destroy any chance of good pressure at low fan rpms.
I understand the need it offer compatibility but I wish manufacturers would optimise for a specific fan sizes, especially for higher end cases.
You ll be surprised how much efficiency is loss by not having a proper seal.
Would be happy to provide pictures of my own build, if anyone is interested.

I recently got a SilverStone PS15-RGB mATX case and really like it; although not as easy to build due to limited space.
The two front panel RGB fans I got have a defect; if the RGB lights are plugged in, the fan motor always runs at 12V speed.
I could probably fix it, but the screws to dismount those fans are just behind the graphics card.
So probably avoid their RGB version and get larger better quality case fans separately.
It is worth noting that a Scythe Mugen cooler does fit inside. And it looks nice with a Seasonic fanless power supply.

I can highly recommend the Fractal Meshify C, it's been keeping my 9900K & 2080 nice and cool for the last year, and yes it would no doubt be a few celcius cooler without the foam lining on the front panel, but its so good at keeping the dust out, that I've barely had any dust build up inside the case & on my Dark Rock 4 air cooler & GPU fans, which IMO, makes it more than worth the slightly higher temps. Having said that the Phantek's P500 RGB is a very tempting prospect, just to give my desk a change of scenery :)

I m totally happy with my Cooler Master MC500P which is the newer version of the master case 5, its highly modular, the it comes with 3 140mm fans, it also has 2 5.25 bay which can be removed if you dont need em, and you can fill the front section with hdd bays if you need shitload of storage, plus it has 4 2.5 mounting brackets. The only downside that you cant use taller than 30mm radiator at the top, so the arctic liquid freezer II wouldnot fit beocuse the radiator is 38mm tall.

My mom brought over 700 cd and dvd's so i was curious what was on a lot of them only to realize i dont have a drive anymore.
Also loving my cooler master h500p mesh. Temps are great but i have a clower style gpu as its just as fast in this variant and expells heat. So how this cast will fair with a 3070 card is the question as blowers are sadly dead now. The only downside is that the 200mm fans are quite loud.

I know it is basically a knockoff, but I am quite happy with my MetallicGear Neo Qube. Looks good, was easy as anything to build in and with the fans on the bottom pulling cool air directly in towards the GPU, I can set my GPU fan temperature at like 55c before the GPU fans turn on. GPU fans remain off unless I am playing a game, which is nice. Though I do intend to one day watercool my GPU... one day.

You cover how the cases come with stock fans or not, I wish you would also figure in to these tests how well it performs when you've got 3 intake and 3 exhaust. I've already purchased my 6 120mm ARGB fans and have no need to replace them unless they break, so if I got a different case I would just take them with me, so what comes stock in it doesnt even matter to me unfortunately.

when I started to plan my new PC 3 months ago after 20 years of console gaming I was amazed by the amount of choice. In my last build 20 years ago, you picked the parts and slapped it any case you could find...now your build starts with case and eveything goes from there....how times have changed...my PC is finished and I could not be more happy
