I HATE it. What pisses me off is for instance vacation was on. It has about half way through on live tv (paramount I think) I clicked add to library. Well it only records from where it was half way through. That's all fine but Vacation comes on again in 2 hours. It WILL NOT record or add that full version to my library because it's already there. Can you delete it Nope. You can remove it from the library but it will still be available for the 9 month when it expires (the half of a movie). It absolutely sucks. They need to allow you to just delete shit if you don't want it and not have to do that crap from a computer. Thinking of going back to sling.

With my own personal DVR on Comcast my recordings don't get deleted unless I change the equipment or something goes horribly horribly wrong with the service. Otherwise you keep your recordings forever. You only get to keep them for less than a year What if it's something you just don't get around to watching for a year but you still really want to see it and it's not available on On Demand or not available without paying some hefty price tag. I don't like that. I once watched a recorded season of a show I had for almost 2 years.

You’re kind of basically explained how that works but I myself thought I had to buy a DVR and thought I had to download it on my DVR to watch it I don’t understand how this works at all I’m over 65 I was around before the telephones are around so could you be dummy it up for me and by the way what’s your basic price because that is the bottom line what is the basic price cost and what does it include that would’ve been nice to have thank you

I think this is extremely reasonable. If you want to always be able to skip commercials, just watch the content before it's available on an On Demand service. Perfect for re-watching the game without spoilers, or niche single-airing television specials. Mostly anything else you were likely going to try to find online anyway, making the DVR recording redundant.
Maybe I'm just too young to be annoyed by this.

We did a trial subscription, and my wife told me that she could not FFWD through the commercials on some of her DVR'ed content. THIS made perfect sense why. Sticking with DISH for the time being. With all the major issues in the world I feel a little silly airing this minor annoyance, but at least I didn't mention how much I hate Donald Trump.

Just got started with YTTV, so not much experience here. What I think I've figured out is that the only way to record a show from Live TV, is to add it to your Library. Once you've done that, it will record all future episodes of that show. I wish it would give you the option of recording only new episodes of that show, like my cable service did.

Why have none of these questions been answered. If you can't necessarily, asterisk, may or may not work ff thru commercials, how do you know if a program CAN be recorded and zipped through Does it change suddenly Like you've recorded it and you COULD zip thru but now a few months later you can't or vice versa And how about answering these questions

Can't understand why it would be annoying. So long as you can see the movie/series you recorded who gives a rat's butt where it comes from Only problem is, if it is in the demand area you should still be able to skip commercials. If not, then can see the annoyance of the idea. That aspect has NOT been discussed in this video...WHY NOT

If I set something up ahead of the start time no problem. But an event like a recorded ballgame has already started but is only 5 min. into it and I want to start watching it , it goes straight to the live action and wont give me an option to start at the beginning of the game. Is that possible, am I missing something

3:00 you don't explain what's annoying. Who cares where it's stored. What we don't know is if there's a lag when you want to watch it while it copied over, or you can't skip commercials or whatever. As a shopper, I still don't know what's annoying about their approach.

This video is misleading. It makes it sound like all YTTV DVR content is on demand. If you set recordings, the only ones that don’t allow fast forwarding through commercials are any from CBS, and even those do revert to regular recordings after a number of weeks.

I was able to fast forward through the commercials of the programs that put in my library. This is not enough detail on how it exactly works. I need more technical info. This is an incomplete analysis!!!

I have movies saved to watch later and then found out they had like 9 commercials yellow bars each I just unchecked them. Who wants to pay $50 a month and spend 2-3 mins to watch commercials every 10-15 mins

This isn’t accurate. You can choose to watch your DVR version, or the on demand version. The DVR version allows you to skip commercials, regardless of the content’s existence in the On Demand library.

Thankfully, YTTV just changed that. They will not substitute your DVR recurring with on demand content. And, Now you can fast forward through just about any DVR content, including CBS.

The key to a great streaming service is being to skip commercials! Its simple, most people HATE commercials period. PS Vue was legendary in all aspects and a joy to use.

All I know is I wish Playstation Vue was still around. Except for those that want to archive tv (geez) as you could only keep up to 28 days they had it all. Sucks
