Embedded Videos Doesn't Play in PowerPoint Hardware Graphics Acceleration. - The Teacher You might sometimes face this problem when you insert or embed a video in Microsoft PowerPoint but it doesn't play during the slideshow. The exact reason for this issue is unknown but there could be some compatibility problems between Windows 10 and PowerPoint or it might be because of some Display Drivers issue. Disabling Hardware Graphics Acceleration or Disabling Slide Show Hardware Graphics Acceleration might help you. Don't forget to hit the like button and leave a comment, if that helps you. You have just made my day. Bought a top spec laptop for my work and it wouldn't play videos inside PowerPoint when connected to a projector (worked fine on screen). Turned out to be the advanced display issue. Turned those off and job's a good'un. Now all I need to do is amend every damned presentation. . . . Scrap that - it looks like you only have to change the setting once as all of them now seem to be working fine :)

This is a PowerPoint Microsoft bug. Who would know that to play a video the hardware graphics acceleration has to be disabled? These things seem unrelated. It might be buried in Microsoft's documentation, but that is very user unfriendly to say the least. Hopefully someone can take the time to report this.

Kudos for the short, concise and accurate presentation. While in a hurry to get a new computer ready for a class... saw one forum talk about deleting .tmp files, did that... no luck. Found your video... you had me up and running before the 1:40 mark in the video. Thank you!

Hi! Is there any other way to play the video because I tried that already but the video can't still be played even if its not in a slideshow. I've tried it on microsoft 2016 and 365 and the video presentation still can't be played

What to do incase when I'm trying to save an inserted video in my ppt and saving it as MP4. The inserted video works fine in the slide show but it's not visible when I'm converting it into video. Please suggest what to do

My embedded Powerpoint will not start automatically, will play but just not without a click. Will disable Display Drives as suggest above, see if that fixes the problem.
