we are going learn how to avoid and fix an overexposed photo in Photoshop especially while trying to enhance the brightness. Some image might seem dark and you naturally have the compulsion to increase the brightness, but while you do it, sometimes, certain parts of the image which are already bright, like face or eyes, begin to loose details, clip and overexpose. In this Photoshop tutorial, we are going to learn how to brighten the image and at the same time keep the already bright areas unaffected without manually painting and creating masks. We are going to achieve this using the new Blend If feature in Blending Options where we will learn to control the areas that we want to put the filter/effect on, in this case brightness, just with sliders

Unmesh, I've been binging your videos the past few weeks. I've seen mostly your new videos, and have been used to your sound foam background, wide desk, mounted microphone and out of frame workstation. Seeing you here with the room corner of a background, small desk that can barely fit the laptop, mouse and mic, shows me how far ahead you are from where you started. Your passion for using, and more importantly, teaching, photoshop has truly brought you success. Although I don't know you, even though I feel like I do after watching easily 200+ hours of you, I'm so very proud of you Unmesh. You're an outstanding inspiration.

Why not adding a 50%grey layer on overlay mode and paint with a soft white brush on a desired opacity? It brightens all your shadows without losing details or adding noise.
