Thanks so much for this video. I have been watching for years. Your Athelean A an B workouts combined with swimming have consistetnly whipped me into shape in about 8 weeks after a stint of being lazy or not managing my diet properly. I'm currently struggling with a significant hip mobility issue on my right side that is also occassionally painful.
When I try to let that side go lazy in the hip drop it barely moves. I can also no longer touch my right knee to my nose. Could you PLEASE do a video on increasing hip mobility I would love to do a proper squat again someday. Thanks for the years of fantastic training and guidance!

Jeff your videos are amazing and I have purchased multiple of your workouts!
I live by them. I’ve had a labrum tear, long head of my bicep tendinosis and AC joint arthritis. It stopped me from working out the last four months. I would love to purchase, if you came out with a workout that helped me get back in the gym based around shoulder warm-ups, rotator cuff strengthening weightlifting, and corrective movements with moderate weight. I know I can put it all together myself but would prefer it built into your platform! Could be a great seller!

Hey Guys, I've got a question on this one, maybe one of you might help me out.
I once figured doing Facepulls with both arms on the doorframe being elevated (back of the hand still touching the doorframe) is more challenging for the upper traps.
However, is there any downside to it for other muscles, or muscle groups, if I do the exercise like that
I would appreciate your input, thanks in regards and have a nice day.

Jeff, Why don’t you just make a mini program that specifically targets in depth, purely the kinetic/postural chain
If you yourself say that it’s essential to hit the kinetic chain, why not just make an in-depth program that covers all
& since it’s a mini program it could easily be integrated to any strength program
You could look at it like CORE-4

Multiple back surgeries, 1 titanium vertebrae and almost my whole lumbar is fused and held rigid by titanium rods. Can't do squats or deadlifts but I still do legs but I gotta be careful or my back goes out. But I'm in the gym 4x5 times a week for several hours at a time and I'm pushing through the pain. And at 61yo I can tell ya it ain't easy but it sure as hell is rewarding

The grip strength thing being good for older people - I don't think it's the grip strength. I think it's that most people don't actually work on grip strength. It's a side effect of full body exercise. Lifting weights, doing chores, etc. And those are things that really make you live longer. But yah I'm gonna try and do all these cause I sit at a computer all day and it sucks.

WOW, the first exercise is no joke. I could barely do 10 reps hahaha.
I have lower back pain, Ive been doing spine compression using a pull up bar but I always kinda hang my left behind me. And now that I tried this, but with my 2 legs at the front, I feel more pain/or release in my lower back than I did with the other variation. Is that a bad or good thing

Jeff. As always fantastic advice and inspirational but, I feel from a therapeutic point of view that, it would be truly beneficial and appreciated if, you mentioned the caveats of your functional videos in terms of contra-indications for those of us with pre-existing injuries. EG: SLAP tear and overhead hanging etc as just one instance. Many thanks

Thank you for this video as well as so many others.
Just turned 70 with a goal of getting back in the shape I was when in the Marine Corps.
With building quality of life for the future, how about a video with a physical therapists take on exercises to maintain balances for life.
Thanks,
Rick

These are GREAT exercises, thank you! I’m 44 and the bridge looked great. I was showing my pretty darned fit 79 year old mom, and she loved them too. She asked about the bridge variation you showed might you have a variation that would not put so much strain on the neck Or, a way to support the neck

Hi Jeff,
I've been watching your videos for a long time and I have a question. When I do bicep exercises, I often don't feel my biceps working at all. Instead, either my forearms get pumped, or I feel strain in the front part of my elbow. What am I doing wrong, and do you have any suggestions to fix this

I know this isn't the point of the video, but I really love the pants! I've been a fan of Adidas for my workout clothes for several years now, and red is my favorite color. Does anyone know where Jeff got his pants from I'm not easily finding them online.

Love this vids man. When I lie down during bench press, the upper right side of my back next to my spine cramps, also I can put my left hand behind my back and touch the top of my back but my right arm can barely get that high at all. How do I change this

Quality of life as we get older is a great goal! As an older trainer/couples dancer, mobility and strength have become more of my focus. Good nutrition and consistency are right up there as well. Thank you for efforts to keep us all moving and grooving!

Hello Coach:
Do you know if these exercises might alleviate the pain in my hip joints due to Osteoarthritis I appreciate you are not a Doctor, but, you know the Body and have a lot of experience working with different Bodies.

OMG I just did the hip drop and I heard a cracking noise and now I’m in so much pain in my hip! I can’t even walk on it right now, I’m just going to have to rest and hopefully it will heal soon on its own.
reply

The grip strength bit sounds completely backwards. Grip strength is associated with better overall health in older folks, yes, but not because increasing your grip strength magically gives you better overall health.

hip-drop workout for glute medius is causing a pain at the knee, esp when trying to lift the side of the leg.
has anyone else faced it how do we fix it just do it slowly and increase the count slowly

reply

yep, those techniques are 100% effective when used daily. focusing on long exhales is our thing. well, more like the thing we created that calms you in seconds, while helping to loosen up those joints
