How to ensure you never overtrain again (and see faster results) Do you really know what overtraining is? Are you wondering if the workout you are doing is leading you to be overtrained and costing you serious results in the process? If so then you're going to want to watch this video about overtraining and what it really means to see for yourself if you're guilty of this. Overtraining has become a term of art, able to be defined by anyone however they choose to define it. The problem however is that OTS or Over Training Syndrome is anything but arbitrary. It's a real condition that affects many drug free lifters or those who have not hit the one in one million genetic lottery. Overtraining is often identified by someone who has stalled in making gains in either muscle size or strength, someone who has lost all enthusiasm for going to the gym, or eve someone who has become more susceptible to non workout related muscle aches or joint pains. In order to see serious results from your training you have to push yourself beyond your own limits of comfort. You have to force your muscles to grow. This takes a serious effort and it takes one that is achieved in the shortest amount of time necessary to create that need. Natural lifters need every opportunity to maximize their recovery and this comes away from the gym. Banging away at set after set of submaximal intensity or even worse, set after set of incredible intensity (after you have already stimulated enough for a change) is a bad use of your body's resources. So, to determine whether overtraining is good for you, you need to first decide how you want to define the term. If you are going to use the actual medical definition of it, then you are going to want to avoid overtraining. I just wanna make sure i understood this part well enough.
Ok so what youre saying is:
If you were bigger than every kids when you were 12, you won the genetic lottery.
How do i know i won the genetic lottery if i started working out at 11?
Did i win the genetic lottery because i can easily sustain 4 hours at the gym? Will it be good for me to do so, or do i have to cut it at 1: 30 workouts? What if im able to push further? Im curious to know if its my genetics or just because im addicted like a smoker to workout. Seriously if u got an answer i would appreciate very much!
How do i know i won the genetic lottery despite the fact i worked out alot at 11 then at 12 i was buffed compared to the other kids.
How do i know if my 10 hours work as a demolition man actually gave me or took from me?
I see results, i keep seeing them no matter what i do, is that a sign?

I know I overtrained. I had recently gotten back into lifting after several years of very limited exercise. I have epilepsy and out of the blue, they increased. At the gym, if I closed my eyes I saw black spots like I was going to pass out. I wanted to keep exercising but literally I could fall asleep on a machine. Eventually, I had night sweats, disrupting sleep, and full blown depression which I assumed was from other sources then in watching videos for weight training techniques abd refreshing my memory the light bulb came on and I-m giving my body rest. The muscle aches etc from work out are one thing. This is a totally different different realm.

Alright so for a full week I was doing pushups, bicep curls and then some thrusters (without the squatting part) till failure, doing 2 sets of this (of course, 2nd set being much less reps than the first. I've been taking a break for 2 days so far, but my arms still feel completely exhausted; is this over training as well? My exercise takes like 15 minutes MAX to finish, and it's very simple too but I'm confused if this is over training or not. Should I take a break until I feel like my body feels normal, or am I supposed to still exercise even if my arms are tired?

Hell yeah it's true that junk caused me to have insomnia for like 4 months. I literally did everything I could to convince myself that exercise wasn't causing the problem when it 100% was causing the problem. Lol
Now I know if I'm pushing myself too hard because I won't be able to stay asleep at night. For me that's the first sign that I pushed myself over that line you're speaking of. I normally have to give myself two to three days off once that happens and I'll go back to normal.

I dont believe in overtraining: Try -Overtraining- 1 muscle group for a month (everyday) then take a week off from that muscle. Then go back to your normal routine. You will LOSE muscle! BUT you increase nuclei in your muscle cells making it easier to put on muscle in that area. Its called NUCLEI OVERLOAD TRAINING if you are interested in looking into it

I've been experimenting and realized that working my biceps and triceps 2x a week like most these trainers say isn't good enough for me. They say to train the same areas 2x a week because the body needs 48 hours to recover, but I'm not getting any bigger that way, it's just maintaining the size I already have. I'm gonna see what happens if I do it more often.

Overtraining can be a good thing or bad thing. If you are challenging yourself with more intensity and longer periods in the pain zone then its good. At some point it becomes junk volume vs quality. If you train more intense every rep sometimes you don't need more sets. Try weighted slow motion pushups. You can hit failure under 10 reps easy.

Is it considered a rest day if your working out different muscle groups each day? Because I have started some of your workout routines and omg I've never seen so much improvement, in fact I have never looked like this in my life. I have to work out it's the only thing that helps with my stress, and I look forward to it.

Omg for those who don-t understand overtraining, you-ve never overtrained! I have overtrained! My resting heart rate was plummeting - like 30 bpm; I was exhausted everyday; my muscles were not recovering and I was not progressing in speed or strength.
Overtraining and training hard are not the same!
