If you want to learn how to grow bigger muscles you have to start learning how to stop being comfortable. Getting big muscles requires hard work. There will never be an easy way around that, or at least a healthy one worth pursuing. That said, the sooner you are ready to start being comfortable being uncomfortable, you will be amazed at what you can achieve in the gym and out of it. In this video, I show you how important it is to step outside of your comfort zone in order to achieve growth. Beginning with this very youtube channel, I show you examples of how this plays itself out in all aspects of life. Over seven years ago, I began this channel with the intent on delivering you the best workout videos you could find. While the content was good, the delivery left a lot to be desired. I simply wasn-t comfortable standing in front of the camera and talking. That said, I had two choices. Either I stopped trying to improve and stopped making videos all together or I continued to work on getting better so that I could expand my audience and earn your viewership. By now, I think you can tell what decision I made. But it doesn-t end there. The same pursuit of how to grow bigger muscles should follow a similar path. If you want to get bigger you have to be equally comfortable with the idea of being uncomfortable in your workouts. The easy exercises are the ones you may flock to the fastest. Who doesn-t like a nice set of concentration curls to pump up those biceps. That said, if you really want to grow bigger biceps you need to hit the heavy barbell curls and there is no way around that. Same thing can be said about your pecs. If you want to grow bigger pecs you have to learn how to press heavy weight in good form and have it be a staple of your workouts. Nobody ever was able to grow bigger legs without having a foundation of squatting and or deadlifting. There just isn-t any way around the fact that high levels of effort will always be a prerequisite of muscle growth and size. But the good news is, this whole shift in mindset can occur rather quickly. As soon as you realize that you are in control of your goals and whether or not you achieve them, it becomes inspiring and motivating. Dedicate yourself to achieving your first small goal and that large long term one doesn-t seem so far away. Learning how to grow bigger muscles is one of the main focuses of this channel. It doesn-t matter if you want to grow bigger arms, bigger back, a bigger chest, or bigger legs. The one thing that unites them all is that you have to start stepping out and taking the risk. There-s never been anything worth having that you can get easy. For a complete training program that has me coaching you every day to make sure you get the most out of every workout you do, be sure to head to and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Grow bigger muscles in the next 90 days, and watch as your confidence builds as well

I agree 100% Jeff I am an over 40 4th Dan karate practitioner and gym goer and by using the same mind set I am capable now of things I could not be in my 20s I am stronger and more well built than ever because I refuse to accept that as you age you must deteriorate. I say absolutely not if you apply yourself and motivate yourself follow the right advice you can continue to achieve in all aspects of your life. The biggest obstacle in life is yourself tackle that and there is nothing you cannot achieve! Thanks Jeff for these videos I have applied much of what you advise and seen some extra results. Goes to show if you stick to your own routines you get stuck in a rut and are limited, never ignore the advice of those who demonstrate what they preach!

I remember doing my usual chest work out and I went to the smith machine to do my flat bench because I train alone and it was safe. Before I load up the weight I had Jeff in my head saying over and over -Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. - So I turned to an actual flat bench and loaded to 25s on the 45 barbell and started benching forreal. That was in July of this year and I am now benching at my max of 215 and just yesterday I squatted and deadlifted 205. And even lost 55lbs in the process. All because of this video, if I haven't watched it, I probably wouldn't make much of a change at all.
So a big ass thanks to you Jeff, and of course Jessie, you really helped change my life.

Just watched this at the end of a 230-4am workout after my Thanksgiving holiday shift. I biked to my gym before work as I usually do, only to find that it was closed. But I decided that I wanted to keep on schedule with my new workout plan so I biked here, after work, in the cold and rain, to keep going.
It's going to suck in this cold, rainy winter to keep biking to the gym four times a week but I am loving the results I'm seeing.
Keep up the great videos and positive messages Jeff!

I can testify. I was stuck at 15lb icep curls and lunges and bent-over rows for 3 years but now I'm gaining 5lb in every exercise every 1-2 weeks by being comfortable being uncomfortable with lower reps but going all out. Now I'm at 30lb bicep curls, 45lb per arm bent-over rows, and my Squats went up from 30lb to 220lb. I weigh 120lb. It's not that much but it's still growth.

Jeez, I do see growth. Anyways, I've heard similar phrases once or twice, but right now at this time in my life it has never struck harder than ever, especially with the rest content shared in this vid. I needed to hear it from you man. Applying the comfortable concept in my workouts to my personal life, it just clicked. Mahalo nui!

But that is no more, and it thanks to this, thank you.

Don't beat yourself up man, all your videos are very informative and honestly i'd watch it as long as you have the information. Certainly charismatic presentation is part of teaching, but again I watch the videos for the information and not for the entertainment. Good message in the video though. Thanks again

Jeff all the videos are great, thank you for that, but how about a video for the parts that don't have big muscles, but need working out, and need to be stronger, like the ankles, knees and wrist? Pls a video for that, thx again
