Exactly as it states! A workout involving primarily DEADBUG variations to target and strengthen the abdominal muscles and entire core! The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 6kg each! The timer will be on for 40 seconds of work, with 5 seconds rest inbetween each exercise! BODYWEIGHT DEADBUG (one side) SWITCH SIDE! STRAIGHT LEG DEADBUG (switch side) SWITCH SIDE! DUMBBELL DEADBUG (switch side) SWITCH SIDE! DUMBBELL STRAIGHT LEG (switch side) SWITCH SIDE! HOLD! (switch side) HOLD! (switch side) DOUBLE DEADBUG STRAIGHT LEG DOUBLE DEADBUG TOE REACH LEG LOWERS TOE REACH TO LEG LOWER ALTERNATING DEADBUG! Why DEADBUG? It is one of my favourite exercises for how I am able to concentrate on bracing my core, apply resistance whilst resisting movement therefore improving stabilisation but also stability during dynamic movements involving the limbs! And then there is the co-ordination involved! - A simple way I suggest to think about bracing the core is to imagine you are going to prepare for impact! Perhaps a sudden impact to the stomach. You would reactively and automatically brace! Also, press that lower back into the mat throughout! Extra focus when lowering the legs at any point!

Today I could actually feel my lower back remaining connected to the mat - and that was such a wonderful victory to have after incorporating direct abs training into my routine again for about a month.

I have to be careful with ab exercises since I slipped my disc twice from workouts. So my favorite ab exercise now is dead bugs. I use them to warm up and also as my main ab exercise, starting basic then adding variations. Working back to some crunches, but so far really happy with how much that one exercise strengthened my core and improved my workouts. Thanks, Caroline!

Had little time today. So this was perfect. Have to say Deadbugs have helped to combat my fear of ab exercises. After 2 c sections and a DIEP reconstruction my abs were destroyed, still not perfect, however definitely stronger and a perfect cancer rehab exercise

After completing Epic Endgame, I've decided to focus on abs/arms for a couple of weeks. LOVED coming back to this workout from the Advent series and being able to see the progress from only a couple of months ago! :)

Doing this ab routine after the legs was mean! My legs wouldn't stop shaking during the deadbugs, ouch!
