How To Squat For MAXIMUM GROWTH

Ready to get those legs growing! Here's a link to get notified when the course drops: I wanted to highlight some of my favorite ways to crank up the intensity of any squat style movement. Instead of focusing on how much weight I can move, I've always focused on how can I get my legs to engage as much as possible during the squat and for me that's been a key to getting them to grow

I find myself agreeing with pretty much everything you say except when you speak about squats. Yes, you should squat differently if you want growth and differently when you want strength. Slow tempo for growth, pause and no bounce. But the technique of a good squat is only one anyway, ass to grass and stay up straight as much as possible. Also, mirror? In weightlifting they do not use a mirror. Because you have to learn how to use your body perfectly without needing to look. So by doing a clean n jerk for example 10000 times literally with 80% of your 1 rep max will lead you to know your body and your body mechanics. So, no you dont really need a mirror. Exactly the same way you dont need a mirror to, deadlift, benchpress, strict press, do flys etc etc!

Ryan-I-m 61 and have been squatting since college. Same routine because it has worked so well for 40 years (eye roll. But now I realize that my form is suffering (225 - 3 sets of 5) and have thinking about the end of squatting for safety and better outcomes.
Have you really seen as good/better results with the 10 second negative and positive routine-. with a dramatically lower weight?
Good stuff thanks!

My hamstrings are tight as hell, my flexibility sucks ass! I have no ass and if I try to squat to the bucket with my feet flat, I feel a shit load of tightness in my shins. The muscle opposite of my calves are tight as hell.
Can I make this issue go away just squatting and holding it with minimal stretching or is stretching just ass important as the work I put in lifting?

Important to all squatters and even non squatters. must watch! I watched this prior to my -squat day workout- yesterday. I normally squat 225 with my max so far being 265. Well let-s just say I dropped my weight to 135 and followed Ryan-s pause and contract advice. Yes my legs and a-- are screaming today. Listen to this guy lol Can-t wait to learn more.

I love watching your videos. I am 52 and I am just getting back into lifting after an extended layoff. When I was younger i used to occasionally do 100 rep squats. My legs have always been my weak area. Chicken legs for sure. What can I do to get my old ass back in shape? I know I can't train like I did in my younger days.

I had knee surgery in October 2020 and I literally went one year (Horrible) making excuses why I can't do legs. I was simply scared of re-injuring my knee. Been working legs now for the last few months and no more excuses for leg day and squats. I love this advice and I will be incorporating these movements from now on!

If i had advice to give a person who has limited time and just starting bodybuilding, I would say do nothing but squats, bench presses and barbell bicep curls. That's it. Work on upping the weight every 7 to 10 days by 10 lbs or so and just do those to jump start your growth and get you going.

I-m 1 1/2 on left and 2 years on right total knee replacement and flexibility is my biggest problem and I-ve been training 57 years. I-ve been trying to follow your tips and advice. I know I-ll never go ass to grass again but I can get to the bench. Anyone else have TKR - s with advice?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3: 16-17

Bruh when I started lifting in highschool, I had a free personal training session and they told me that my knees weren't supposed to go past my knees. Are you telling me I've been doing it wrong all this time? (just graduated Uni) -_-
