Why You STILL Don't Have 6 PACK ABS

Why You STILL Don't Have 6 PACK ABS

Ready to make 2021 your year and finally get a 6 pack? Let's get after it. I wanted to make this video to share some insight I've had about my own journey because anyone who has worked on transforming their body knows that you go through cycles. Sometimes it's effortless, almost easy to do the hard things, eat what you're supposed to, get in all your meals, etc. but other times it's like no matter what you do you can seem to get back on track. In my experience it comes down to two things, the reason you're doing it and simplicity of your plan. Now you can't just do abs every day and expect things to change. There are several components you need like diet and proper preparation but the simpler each of those are the easier it is to follow through and get to your goal. Here's a link to the Ted Talk I referenced in the video

Ryan, I have dropped -150 lbs over the last year and a half and started working out in March doing body weight stuff transitioning to weights in the fall. Apparently my dedication may be considered above average but my ever changing goals have landed me a new one that seems lofty but just a year ago seemed impossible, Id like some visible abs in 2021.
Im currently around 19% body fat according to a cheap amazon scale, what are my chances? (keep in mind any doubt will only push me to say I told you so)

so in February i was 311 pounds. now I'm 255 I'm losing weight clearly but I feel like I'm just getting smaller. vs actually getting abs. if i stay in a calorie deficit will it just come in time? or when you talk about a trash diet and such does it matter WHAT i eat vs the amount of calories? I'm a total newb with all this. Im 6'4 and have zero equipment/knowledge about nutrition. just eat less and i get smaller. thoughts?

I don't have 6 pack abs because I have 8 pack abs. :)
It's not superior, it's just genetics that determines whether you have 2 or 3 transverse separations.
My motivation is simple. My 2 hernia surgeries and bad knee give me pain in direct proportion to my weight. I can -feel- when I'm getting fatter. My method is also simple. Intermittent fasting every day, 17/7.

I agree! My wife sometimes asks me -why are you doing this- and I tell her I-m doing it for you. She says -I love you no matter what don-t do it for me- and I immediately say that I want her to hold me accountable for the way that I look and the food that I eat. at least until my junk stops working then all bets are off

hey Ryan what are some healthy amounts of fat burned/muscle built for every 7 days?
like if I'm cutting, how much fat should I expect to (healthily) burn without losing muscle, and for it to be sustainable?
same for muscle building, how much muscle mass per week would be healthy to go up without putting on fat.

I bought clothes before December, then the gym closed, then Christmas came and the high stress exam period. And now the pants aren't comfortable unless I keep the button open. I am not fat, I had just done great progress in the gym and now I lost that progress again.

Ryan, do you ever use resistance bands? I got some recently because I can't always get to the gym these days. If so, could you give us some tips on how to get the most of them. I love your videos they're great advice and I love your sense of humor. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the videos, they help. they keep myself and many other focused and important during these times. I look forward to planing new home workouts. Can you do a vid of resistance band workout for muscle building? Keep pumping out the vids, they are great!

Since we're on the subject, I quit my decade long, pack-a-day smoking habit with the patch. I put on the first, most powerful patch and then smoked cigs til I puked. Can't say I recommend it, but I haven't even wanted a cigarette in 23 years since.

You asked for questions regarding what we-d like to see.
I use a work out cage, dumbbells, Land mine, dip bars.
I-m a hermit workout freak.
Will the app have options for free weight vs machine?
And routines?
Thanks Ryan
