Need to fix your IT BANDS? I assume that if you found this video then you're exactly like most people who come to train with me for the first time and your IT bands are unbearably tight! Don't be ashamed, life does it to us all. Whether it's from sitting in the office all day or being on your feet and over time building up incredibly tight iliotibial bands because you put too much pressure on one part of your feet. Here's the good news, it's easy to fix. Don't let someone tell you that you're screwed because it's as simple as these four things to get you back on track. 1. Roll out your IT bands 2. Roll out all parts of your quad 3. Stretch your TFL 4. Actively stretch and push against your IT bands with weighted exercises. Check out the video for a more in-depth explanation on all of them and subscribe if it helps you out!

TOTAL TRUTH! I couldn't do deep squats at all even cycling for any length of time for nearly 30 years, My left knee was always trouble, my doctor told me I had a chip on the back of my patella and that that was the cause of my need trouble, I started going out with a personal trainer and she taught me what an ITB was, the first time I rolled it out it was excruciating, BUT, now I love deep squatting and can ride my bike forever, all those wasted years!

I had a total right hip replacement which is not completely healed. Could you recommend exercises that do not violate the hip precautions (1. Can't bend greater than 90 degrees; 2. Can't turn legs into a pigeon toe; 3. Can't cross bad leg over non-operated leg) The idea is not to dislocate the ball joint (very painful and has to be reinserted in hospital under sedation. Thank you for your suggestions.

What if you have the opposite problem? I can't seem to activate my quads properly when I squat and I find that my hamstrings and low back are always firing to the point where I have constant irritation in my hamstring tendon attaching behind the knee. Could it be because of tight calves or due to some other imbalance somewhere else?

I always have pain in my knee and back when I squat. Of course that may be due to the two arthroscopics on the knee and the degenerative disc in the back.
