Great video, and an awesome adventure. Very fun to see some of the traverse with better vis than when I did it. A note please though is the huts are unheated - other than Bow - and are meant to be wild sheltered and only as warm as the number of people in them warming them up. Using the propane is intended for cooking only - it is flown up to the hut. Also the propane will crank up the moisture in the hut. Please don't lead people astray with that description of warming the hut as much as you can with the cook stove.

Now that you have completed the Wapta Traverse. have you learned what the name means.
Official Counter: Mediocre Amateur videos since Danny's last puke: 22! But there is hope on the horizon. spring running is coming. Now we just need the other Mediocrs to push Danny too hard. and maybe add in some cheap food to add to the equation.

Don't know about North America, but here in Europe it's considered pretty bad style to knowingly take no sleeping bags and use all the cooking propane in a hut to stay warm.
In an emergency, sure. But planning the tour around that! I have to admit I was shocked how you talked about that as if it was totally normal.

Hey Mediocre Amateurs! Terrific! One of your best!
As a newbie to your kind of adventure, I couldn't help but wonder what your gear/clothing list for such a traverse was. Looks like lots of sweat potential and then freezing cold potential. Can you share your equipment/clothing lineup for this one please?

Coming from a guy who is native to northeast Afghanistan which has tremendous Hindu Kush mountains, the entire Ice Fields Parkway drive is as good as it gets. From Mount Temple and Morraine Lake to Lake Louise and Bow Lake or the Athabasca Glacier, this is an amazing place, winter or summer.

I love you guys and this was another EPIC adventure! You always inspire me (during summer, I went to Guggihutte in Switzerland and it was my most memorable summer experience. Definitely the most beautiful views. However, I miss Christoff and his comments

Amazing, I get the same feeling as your friend when I'm close to an ice cave: D. I can't help myself. The skiing parts are not very cravassey? I wonder which camera do you use for recording all the stuff? Any filters also or just a circular polarizer?

Watched this a few months ago. Amazing video. In fact, my mind was blown enough this had to be added to our todo list. So witha couple firends, we're registered to a (guided) Wapta traverse in april of 2023. Thanks to your source of inspiration!

The real skiing or snowboarding is in the Purcell Mountains to the west of the Canadian Rockies or Banff national park. Jumbo Glacier, Commander Glacier and many more. Much more gnarly and more snow than the Rockies.

I'm very optimistic but if I was with you guys, about halfway through your expedition, you would have to abandon me so you could save yourselves and I would just hope the end would come quickly.

Definitely one of the best adventures so far. Would be awesome to see you guys tackle something difficult in the northeast like Mount Katahdin in winter. Thanks for all the inspiration material!

Awesome trip! I have plans of doing the 2-3 day tour up Columbia one day. This looks fun too. May need to do this as well, myself.
