Hey! I know you normally do business class reviews, and frankly I would enjoy reviewing in business class seats myself, yet, not everyone has the money for those kind of seats. It would be great if I could see what the flights are like in seats that I could actually afford. I would really enjoy some reviews of premium economy class and economy class seats of different airlines around the world! In the end though, what ticket you want is up to you, I'm just saying that there is probably a neice of people like me who would really appreciate an in-depth review and maybe even comparisons of different economy and premium economy accommodations. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Have an amazing day.

I have been on that NBO to ZUR Swiss flight several times and actually like it since there aren't many options to get to Switzerland. It helps that my son works for United so we get a nice employee discount on Swiss air, best one for us. I kind of like the stop over in DAR since the swiss flight leaves earlier than the other Europe flights out of NBO so you get more time in Business class. I don't eat that snack from NBO to DAR, not worth the calories. And as you say, the Lounge food in ZUR is hard to beat so save some room for that find food.

I flew Swiss ZRH - LHR economy a few weeks ago. Quite a vanilla experience; nothing particularly bad but nothing memorable either. Remember it as 'just another flight'. The Swiss lounge in Zurich was good though, comfortable and with a reasonable variety of snacks and drinks.
It was my first time in Zurich and the lounge was well hidden behind more security checks and the signs must have been taken away for refurbishment. Or something. Security guys were good though and pointed us in the right direction.

Hey Jeb! Nice review as always: thanks for posting. I think you should give Swiss another try but please remember todays Swiss is not the former Swissair! On various flights I found the crew somehow mediocre, not really interested in their job; tbh I prefer Lufthansa over to Swiss. The seating is a bit dated today and for the throne ones have a look how much they charge for that. Isnt that a scam for a business class? But people are so happy for the Swiss chocolate (omg)

I am so surprised you had a bad experience. I fly Swiss from MIA to ZRH often and one thing that has always surprised me was the crew. Of the LH group airlines, I find them to be the best. You do make a great point about the seat, since it is the old business class seats on the A330/A340, they feel very stiff and I too have a hard time sleeping on them. My suggestion is give them another chance! Try the Swiss B777 in business, you'll be blown away, promise!

I like the fork trick. I've only flown Swiss once in Economy on an A320 from Berlin to Zurich. I missed my connection to Dubai as there was bad weather outside of Berlin.
They were going to book me on a Swiss flight with a connection, then decided to book me on an Emirates flight which they don't normally do.
So apart from the missed connection, I can't complain, although was looking forward to experiencing the A330 flight to Dubai.

Give Swiss another try. Flew them from Amsterdam to Nice through Zurich snd they were great. Plus they gave small chocolates at end of meal
Re: the security guy who wanted your email address-welcome to Africa. Its not uncommon. Especially for those who see wealthy westerners every day. Once asked s cop for directions and he demanded s gratuity. So gave him $20.
Keep a fake email address and some spare cash. Just for the future trips.

Jeb, superb reviews. Keep it up. Swiss used to be the European power house of premium products but alas has fallen way behind. Some have said give them another chance, however you only get one chance to obtain customer loyalty. brands such as Swiss need to be on point all the time and in my opinion theyve plateaued and lost focus. like the crew on your flight

Fully agree with your comments. I flew Swiss Biz several times in past (and probably in the future too. Catering out of ZRH is definitely better. The thing with the crew, well, yes sometimes its just lousy, especially on night flights. I recommend you to pick a route next time with the new Swiss 777 which provides different seats with a bit more comfort.

Jeb, what a disappointing experience! The food and as far as the cabin crew interrupting dinner to do some sightseeing out the window, that is unheard of! Not something you would think you would ever see on Swiss, that is truly incredibly unprofessional. I also would have set the bar much higher for Swiss, very poor on their part.

Jeb: i share your preference for the Bose QC20 even over the QC30 (not a good choice for air travel as they do not have a cable attachment to the aircraft system) and QC35's. You would never guess that their noise cancellation is much better than their ''cousins'. And they are small and compack=t for easy packing.
and QC35

I think you should give SWISS another chance. I think their catering may have suffered on just that leg moreso than others. A friend of mine went to swizerland on business and really enjoyed the 777 business class and said the food was good. I would reccomend giving another try on a route from asia or america to europe.

Its probably never a fair comparison on services to Africa vs other parts of the world. Its just different standards in lounge onboard services etc. Give Swiss another try especially in F on a 777. Its been by far my best experience even better than the top Asian carriers

Haha, great tip about stabbing the yogurt to avoid it exploding when opened. Comprehensive review but I wish you'd said the length of the second leg into ZRH. I fly Turkish whenever possible, absolutely great catering every time.

So is your business a travel blog? Im guessing you must do more to be able to afford all these flights and vacations but a normal job wouldnt allow for this much traveling I would guess. How are you able to do all this traveling?

I flew from Kilimanjaro to Amsterdam with KLM and we had to stop in Dar Es Salaam. The layover was planned to be 1hr and 30mins. It ended up being over 4 hours. It was absolute hell. And I missed my connection in Amsterdam.

Also, why do you not name the countries? Cape Town is in South Africa, Nairobi is in Kenya, Kigali is in Rwanda. Please dont refer to 54 individual countries as Africa. It isnt a country, its a continent.

That Swiss service didn't look all that good, and the food wasn't much was it. What a shame years ago Swiss Air had just outstanding service. Sometimes it just doesn't happen I guess. Great video though!

Swiss's a330 is older than their new 777 300er. The triple seven has a newer product, more space, and better entertainment. I would recommend getting on one of swiss's routes with their new 777.

I flew Swiss from Newark to Venice via Zurich, I flew economy and it was a great flight in all areas. You should give them at least another chance. The only thing I didnt like was the old A330

Hey, hands off Swiss, I've never heard anything bad about them. Alright so fish isn't right and maybe they do enjoy a little hijinks, so what, I'd rather have a crew of people than #Maybots.

08: 00 minute. What? The crew stop during serving cause they wanted to see Kilimanjaro? This is surely no Swiss typical character of on duty cabin crew hffffhhhh.

Catering is from Dars Es Salaam or NBO. You can't blame swiss all time. Sometime routes like NBO, BOM, LOS i hear they don't put good crew, not necessarily true.

Im about to spend 6. 5 hours on a Swiss A330 so this was very helpful! Id say the only decent seats are the thrones and those solo seats next to the window.
