Hi Jeb and Suzanne, thank you for this latest review. In terms of your lounge question, being an Australian, you know that to get to Europe we have a choice of Singapore, Dubai or Doha. Those first 8 or 12 hours enable a clear break and with lounge access, a shower is great to face the next 12/14 hours. Flying across, the Atlantic, the 6/7 hours mean that
you are at a probable destination and the need for a shower is less evident, the Jet Blue option is one I would exercise with alacrity and faced with large queue to get into a crowded lounge, I would do what you guys did: skip it. I think, the relatively low score for this service due to lack of a lounge was perhaps a bit severe with apparent good food, OK seats, service and a splendid cost.
When are you guys coming back to Australia, let us know and we will organise a get together with know reviewers and hordes of your aviation fans ( plus drinks)

I've only ever been in an FF lounge a couple-three times (and I wasn't overly impressed, TBH)
Nevertheless, I wouldn't choose to hide in a lounge at Schiphol airport. It is such a fascinating place, and you can meet people from places you've never heard of (Geography was not my best subject!
My husband and I had an overnight layover in Amsterdam many years ago, and I collected a lot of stories from that adventure!
But my favorite memory was when we were having coffee at a stand-up communal kind of table. People would come and go. Some would linger and chat with us. We met a coffee grower from Kenya, newlyweds from I-can't-remember, and several other travelers from exotic locations.
Such a great experience!

I can use other lounge options (Centurion or PP) but obviously need to plan ahead. I like having a cheaper ticket. I also think that I would be ok next to the galley and lavatory if that meant the Mint Studio. It was huge (for US carriers. I felt like the Mint Suite that Jeb sat in looked cramped. All in all, Jet Blue has a great product and service in the sky. I'm still pissed at Jet Blue's check-in process and getting screwed years ago. Note to Jeb, look at the A330Neo's altitude on your crossing. They flew 6K ft higher than you. Gave them less dense air and probably better winds. Not to mention they have bigger engines (but yes pushing a heavier airplane. Cheers!

There are many ways to get business lounge access, so it's not a big deal unless you have some time between flights. I really don't care about the food. it is fine, and probably necessary on a 12 hour flight, but an 8 hour flight without a big meal is not a deal-breaker for me. The flat bed pays dividends with flight comfort, and you feel less like a hamburger or sardine on landing.
Staying for hours on an upright or nearly upright seat is both unnatural and a killer. DVT is a risk, especially as people get into their senior years.
A good entertainment system is essential, and it does not cost that much to maintain once it is set up.

Hey Jeb and Suzanne! I was your lead crewmember on board and like I said then it was an honor to have you on board. As soon as I saw you my little airline nerd heart lit up with joy! I'd be more than happy to welcome you back on board any of my Trans-Atlantic flights again. This also happened to be my very first working flight in the Trans-Atlantic catalogue, and as the lead of course, so it makes me incredibly happy to hear how much you enjoyed the service myself and the other crew could provide for you. Hope to see you in the great blue skies again soon. Cheers!

Personally, I think the lounge is critical to the experience. I always get to the airport early and so I would hate to not have the lounge. That said, some lounges are really dropping the ball on quality and cleanliness now, and as some others have said, they are getting crowded. I know this can be a problem where airlines allow too many entry categories and single access purchases. Change the lounge access back to only business and first class travel, and high tier loyalty customers, and that's it and it is worth the cost.

I don't think I'd miss the lounge much. I don't often have lounge access, but when I do it is sometimes so crowded and so for from the gate that it's really no less comfortable to just find a seat at a restaurant or bar closer to the gate. Besides, I really try not to get to the airport so learly that I have more than an hour or two to kill by the time I get near my gate. I think the seat on the plane is way more important!

When their home airport, Boston, has that amazing Sapphire Lounge (which is also PriorityPass, there's no reason to have your own airline lounge. No way they'd do it better than they do there. You'd think for the price though they could work out an agreement to at least let their passengers use some lounge. It would only cost them maybe $25-40 a person and even then only if they actually used the lounge.

I feel like $1500 is expensive for this. I understand its July, but if you search around in advance you can get $1800 tickets on TAP from Lisbon or Air Europa from Madrid (and both are not super huge hubs, so i can only imagine London and Amsterdam being even cheaper then $1800. That means much bigger planes, slightly bigger space and lounge. I honestly thought you would say the price was $1000 or less.

I flew JetBlue Mint LAX -> JFK last year on my birthday. In the alternating 2-2/1-1 configured A321. Had a truly excellent crew, received a happy birthday, good food, and got some much needed sleep.
I don’t care too much for lounge access, priority pass covers that to an extent, and Mint is otherwise an excellent business class product. Even if the 2-2/1-1 configuration is showing its age.

I have status with star alliance, so lounge access regardless of class is excepted. Therefore, I wouldnt want to pay a biz ticket to fly jet blue that doesn’t have lounge access. I value the ability to find a space to get some work done, and getting some drinks without having to worry about payment and currency. Hence if they want loyal business travellers, they are basically behind in their strategy.

The lack of lounge wouldn’t make a difference to me, honestly. Nice to have but when the on board service and product are of such high quality, and relatively less pricey, it all comes out in the wash.
It’d be easy to say JetBlue should just do a deal with one of the mainstream lounge chains, e. g. Aspire, but as this video shows the cough grass isn’t always going to be greener

Price - 1 star! $1400 o/w Europe / East Coast USA. aka $2800 RT. TERRIBLE DEAL! $2k over the pond RT all year with a little digging.
4 stars for that INT B/C seat No way. Too tight. All main line and most international have much more space. 2 stars. maybe 3
5 stars for the wifi/entertainment - absolutely
4 stars for the staff - 100%
But still love your reviews Jeb! Keep going!

I just took JetBlue Mint to London and agreed with everything in the video. The food was surprisingly great, especially coming from the UK. The space is kinda small and that seat control issue drove me crazy. Overall I would rate it 8. 5/10. As for the lack of a lounge, it would not bother me as long as the price was $400 to $500 less than a comparative flight with lounge access.

Not having a lounge is a major problem for Jet Blue because sharing lounge access and gates are the two things that alliance partners most commonly do. But if you don't have lounges to share, no one's going to bother being your partner, so you're kind of stuck. Bottom line: I really hope most people don't care about lounges because JB has nowhere to go in this area.

I love yalls videos. It’s pretty disappointing to see you so positive on JetBlue given they are disabling doors. The fact you don’t even mention this is problematic at best given your journalistic positions.
My ask is that you update the video to reflect that doors will be disabled due to JetBlues unwillingness to staff sufficient FAs on the flight.

Jet Blue has become one of my favorite airlines. The crews are happy to work for Jet Blue which makes a difference. I would not mind not having lounge access in a large airport. Plenty of lounges you can get access to with a credit card access. Large airports have some great restaurant too! Thanks Jeb and Suzanne for another great review!

Great video. Having a lounge is insignificant most times. The way air travel is during the summer, I’m looking to minimize the hassles and get from security to the gate. As a long time investor in JetBlue, I hope we are able to maintain the international routes that are established. The airline industry is very challenging at the moment.

Two thoughts: First, the little snippets at the end, awesome. Lounge Don't care, rather walk around the airport before sitting for 8-20 hours (I have traveled quite a bit. It's all about inflight for me. Love you guys, keep up the good work! OH, and flying Mint to London and back from Paris in a few months! Can't wait!
