I experienced this older Singapore Airlines suite at Tokyo Narita outbound to LAX. Quite the design -- the work of a yachtbuilder, I understand. However, the new SQ A380 suites upstairs are THE better product and, like you, I can't wait to try one. I saw this SQ jet at JFK outbound to Frankfurt as I was awaiting (at the new TWA Hotel, natch) the Emirates 10: 30 am A380 outbound to Dubai then onward to Mauritius. Like you, we Southerners love our jets. Can't wait until they rush back into BHM which, at last brush, was as quiet as the mice at Piedmont Triad. Cheers, Suites Style!

Personally though, I'd mostly fly First Class for the privacy and comfort. The food just. isn't me. Neither is wine/champagne. Now if they served cheeseburgers and french fries with Mt Dew and Jack Daniels, I'd be all over them XD

Jeb I agree with you most times. But not giving them a five star on the cabin due to the fact they have a newer design doesn't seem fair. And only a 4 star on the lounge not very fair. If the crew was so good I think they needed a 5 star so 25 out of 25 for them is what I think. I hope to hear your comments. I enjoy all of your videos ty so much.

In my opinion, the older first class suites will literally be timeless and are much preferable to the new ones, simply because of this:
The new suites look like they were designed by an office designer. The old ones make you feel like youre on a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean. I would rather feel like Im on a yacht than an office,

Excellent review sir. Did you have any trouble finding first class award availability? My wife and I are traveling to and from the Maldives in Sept from the US and cant find any availability yet. Is this common?
One more question, if it were your choice Singapore first class or Emirates first class?

I always choose Singapore Air for my regular LHR-SIN-MNL visits to see my in-laws. Although I can only afford economy class, it is still the best airline I have travelled on. In particular, the A380 which gives a feeling of space so I too am disappointed they are being phased out.

They probably were only attentive cos u were a first class passenger, my flight to tokyo on economy was treated like sardine in a can, they were not attentive, robotic and almost all of them (the cabin crew) were a snob. singapore airline is very much overrated in my opinion

It's very poor that the amenity kits pyjamas etc were handed to you in the plastic! The correct way is to open them for you in front of you hand them over and take the plastic away and dispose of it! It's a very lazy trait!

I would personally much rather sit on the upper deck overlooking those giant wings and engines.
Either right over the wing or right in front so I could look back on the massive engines.

I like this cabin much better that the newer suites. What I don't like is the timing from Singapore to FRA to JFK. For that matter so many of SQ's international flights leave around midnight.

Wow, hard to believe that seat is 12 years old. Amazing how far ahead SQ was, with some airlines First Class still not measuring up to this standard in 2020.

I used to fly this route all the time, SIngapore had a JFK => Frankfurt => Singapore route and back. I think they got rid of it 2 years ago?

FRA to JFK is too short of a route to pay first class prices. I think business class would be more than adequate for the duration.
