There are two airports I consider not much more than puddle jumpers because. Well, one is Toledo Express in Ohio, and the other is Ft. Wayne, Indiana airport. The major problem is they are the only two airports within a 1 to 1. 5 hour drive from most all of the NW corner of Ohio, but they are both so small, and only allow a certain size of plane in; partly because of their size; that most people from the NW corner of OH only have choices for larger airports like Detroit, Dayton, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and yes Chicago, which are ALL 2. 5 to 3 hours away to drive to. Because of this tickets can tend to be extremely high from these two airports for Coach class tickets. Because of this; there are people who prefer to take the train in and out of the area, but the problem again is that the three closest stations are Waterloo, IN; Bryan, OH; and Toledo, OH. which of these; two of the stations are nothing more than glorified bus stops; (Waterloo, IN. and Bryan, OH) Bryan, OH. however, only has two train stopping times now. 7: 05am going west toward Chicago, and 1: 45 am going east toward Cleveland. You could make a whole episode about this. Who knows; the right people might sit up and take notice.

All the airline mergers inevitably resulted in some cities being de-hubbed, and it's interesting to see how the airports adapt afterwards. At CVG, it seems they've really found their place with cargo. Delta is still the dominant passenger carrier with the greatest market share. In my opinion, the difference between a hub and focus city is that a hub is designed for connecting passengers, while a focus city operates flights to a carrier's hubs, as well as point to point routes, but is not used for connections. While low-cost carriers like Allegiant and Frontier picked up some of the slack, I think it's unlikely the airport will ever see hub-era passenger numbers, simply due to the lack of connecting passengers.

CVG and Delta have a rocky past. When Delta was at its peak it was known for aggressively undercutting competition until the competitor pulled out. They could do that because Cincinnati was home to many Fortune 500 companies and many passengers were flying on behalf of their company. As Delta fell many of the Fortune 500 companies relocated to better served areas. In recent years, cargo has kept the airport buoyant while passenger traffic has began to rebound thanks to low cost providers. It really is a tragedy what happened to passenger service, but Delta didn't price flights for the average traveller.

If youre doing cargo centered airports, then MEM would be PERFECT since it is the busiest cargo airport in the world. Plus, on the passenger side, we do have a newly opened terminal B. Although the entrance is still outdated (though I do believe they are going to work on that next) I would love to see you visit and tour MEM, even if its just for the FedEx world hub!

Airports are nothing but a nuisance. Noise and jet fuel sprayed all over the area with little regard to the area residents. Thank goodness Delta almost went bankrupt. Only hope Amazon and DHL take a downturn, as well. No benefits to having a jet fuel factory in the air around you.

1: 33 thats our hangar! I didnt know you took a tour of CVG last year! I do line maintenance for Atlas and Polars fleet of 767s and 747s. Amazons air hub is going to be up and running within the next month or two, a lot of big things happening here at CVG.

I would love to get your rating for my home airport of TPA. I worked there for almost 20 years. The changes I witnessed in that time were amazing and it keeps getting better. I sure do miss working in aviation.

Although some sources indicate Covington, as the Northern Kentucky part; the information is incorrect, and it should show as Hebron, and NOT Covington. Nothing worse than misinformation! Your video was great, Jeb!

As far as aircraft viewing areas go, some airports got skiddish after 9/11, and either did away with them completely, or modified the location. San Francisco International airport, was one of the first.

My city! Glad I found this as I've been binge watching your videos recently. Ironic the first thing you saw as you landing in CVG was a baseball field. Perfect for the city of Cincinnati!

Delta closing their hub at CVG was an incredible stroke of luck for us who fly out of there. It drove down prices by a lot. I think CVG is grossly underrated versus most airports in the US.

Some of your video, especially the closeup shots of the larger jets, is shaky and nearly unwatchable. I suggest you use a better capture device or a better video editing suite.

Could you do a behind the scenes of Houston international airport. One of my favorite airports mostly because I travel through that airport all the time because of my job.

Some of you may have seen an earlier version of this video. I was able to work with the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to make it even better. Enjoy!

You should visit Pittsburgh International Airport due to its insane history with US Air's main hub and how it died and then grew again.

Wow 2017 was the last year as this being a hub for Delta? I thought that happened a really long time ago. Like 2008 or so.

I delivered anti-freeze here once back in 2017 when I was in training to be a tanker driver. CVG is massive.
