I flew KLM round trip from JFK to Amsterdam in October 2019. Had a 787 for the trip to Amsterdam and a 777 for the return flight. For the flight over, it was the pursers final flight before retiring and he got an ovation before we deplaned. The 777 had no wifi, but we were flying back on Halloween and most of the Dutch on board were coming over for the NYC Marathon, so we all got a KLM sweat band(I managed to get a second one from one of the crew. I was in economy comfort right behind business class both ways. The 777 was shopworn compared to the 787, but the vibe was nice with all the marathoners on board. 2019 was KLMs 100th anniversary, and they are the worlds oldest continuously operating airline. The entire crew wore matching blue sneakers to mark the occasion of the marathon.

Jeb - have traveled on KLM's 777's as well as 787's to Africa and Atlanta multiple times over the past few years. Agree with you: I've always found the business class crew exceptional. The Delft house gift? Does any other airline offer something as creative and beautiful as a KLM house? I have 30 displayed in a room in our home just like they are in the AMS lounge. You were generous about the entertainment options - compared with Delta's selection, that could engage you for hours and hours, , KLM is no better than a 2. Also, the antique seating is worth no better than a 2. I find KLM charging as much or more as any other competitor for business class - hope that one day, they deserve the steep price they charge for a business class product that reminds me of a seesaw.

As an aside comment, as a kid I used to bicycle through the KLM company staff club in Wassenaar to my favourite fishing spot. Now in Australia September 2021, having travelled extensively throughout the world and all continents, I still continue to enjoy your presentations enormously and will continue to until Australia can rejoin the travelling fraternity, until then I will enjoy your videos as you appear to be able to roam the world. lucky You!

Sooo this is part of their new business class product as well unfortunately with the 2-2-2 config they just finished implementing the same seat on the A330 why they chose that I will never know. Its a good seat but me as a solo traveler usually avoids klm flying trans atlantic! (sometimes they change planes from a 787 to a 777) had that happen a few times before and that sucks tbh

That chair happens to be a Rietveld chair. Thats was a kind of famous artist from NL. Build some crazy houses and has a museum in Utrecht. And yes the chair isnt comfortable at all i know Oh and hes grandson (my uncle) was a 747 captain for KLM for a long time.

Hi Jeb, this time I completely agree with your marks, only flew KLM once and that was enough; seats? quite awful and uncomfortable; but the big but was flying to lovely Cape Town, my favourite city in the world, the city I fancy the most twice already there and expecting a third and even a fourth trip and more hopefully; fancied your review quite a lot

While I prefer the business class seats on the 787 10, I find the 777 sests comfortable when traveling with someone. I also found the Crown Lounge seats comfortable but the lounge can get crowded during the morning rush. I've done about 10 business class seats on KLM and always found the service to be excellent.

I recall the Dutch spoken by the ppl and staff at the airport. On the plane they had music and I request for Dutch songs. True Dutch nieuwspapers was given out. I still have mine!

Also KLM are planning to put the new 1-2-1 seating product on the 777s at the end of this October 2021! Woo Hoo! Cant wait to try the new 1-2-1 on the 777s some day!

Jeb, if you have a camera that can zoom even up to 2x, like a phone, I would just zoom it in at the window so you could get some good footage. Your takeoff footage was not the worst takeoff footage ever, it was quite nice.

Worst take-off footage? Hell no! Sometimes its nice to see a different perspective. People rarely film the inside of the cabin on take off, and you kind of get a totally different perspective from the location you shot from.

10: 05 my grandpa had a lot of these houses. I thought they where toys, but when i asked my grandma what they where, she said it was a gift if you fly business. My jealousy never went over(i always fly economy.

KLM is awesome! Flew the Dreamliner 878. Most quiet engine and dreamy rainbow led lighting. Food was superb and the flight attendants were first rate. They were very attentive and knew my name. Truly Wonderful!

nobody cares about the Captain yada yada, just stick with the accommodations and you misses a lot of information regarding the seat and access to the aisle when you have a neighbor that is asleep

2+2+2 Seat is not Business class. IF you sit by the Windows, you Will not get out. This is just premium economy nothing else. Airline usch as KLM shouldmbe avoided.

next time you go to Amsterdam Schipol in I think departures 3 there is a terrace where you can go into an old Fokker 70 and it has tons of memorabilia

The KLM houses are filled with Bols Jenever, not Gin. Gin is the English copy of Jenever centuries ago. But almost the same just like Vodka.
