Jeb always loved your videos. not sure how often you check comments but today is 11/4/2021 you see I am a ham radio operator from Pgh. Pa. and for years I have been trying to make contact with a ham operator on the island. think there are only 2. finally the conditions were perfect between the island and my home the other day and talked to Peter who lives right there in Jamestown. the electric power is limited for only a couple hours a day for him so to see this works out for me I was thrilled. short qso (chat. but worth it being from what I see about 9800 miles away was too cool. working with only 100 watts and a wire antenna at 30ft high the radio Gods were smiling for me. I ran right off to mail a qsl card (like a post card with your name etc and signal reports and so on ) and hope he will also send me one in the coming months. thanks again for all your traveling. with my hobby I can say I travel the world and neve leave my chair. all the best. Bob. Pgh Pa.

St Helena was the final resting place for Napoleon. He was first exiled to Elba Italy and then escaped back to France to start the Hundred days campaign. Eventually He was defeated at Waterloo. This time the British made sure Napoleon cannot easily escape or be rescued by the French, so the British sent Napoleon to this far far far remote location, St Helena. I will add the trip to St Helena to my Bucket list. Thank you.

The service from Joburg is no longer and unlikely to return. Instead the Brits have contracted with Titan Airways to run a very few number of special charter flights from London (Stansted) via the Canaries to Ascencion Island where after crew rest the plane makes a roundtrip to St. Helena before another crew rest and then a return to London on a 757 or a smaller aircraft.

Great video, thank you! Traveling from Europe to South Africa across that incredible continent across north, Sahara then equatorial Africa before southern Africa in the daytime was a great memory for me, what an amazingly diverse continent and memories of interesting and lovely people wherever I traveled in that part of the world.

The air route to St. Helena is far less useful to transport goods especially large goods - than the original RMS St. Helena. Air travel is much more deleterious to the environment. How does St. Helena get 'container' loads of goods now that the RMS St. Helena no longer travels there?

When I travelled to the UK from At Helena in 1998 as a 17 year old kid it took 14 days on a ship/large ferry. was an absolute ball! Got pee'd as a mofo non stop. Couldn't manage a 2 week p. up now though. so the flight would be greatly welcomed

I thought this was for MSFS2020, this is much better! I just flew into this airport on MSFS2020 on my CRJ700 coming from Vitoria, Brazil, or SBVT. My OnAir app was a little upset with me because I didn't land with more than 30m of fuel onboard.

What a superb video! Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make it and my apologies for being so late in discovering it (2 years after you made it) but I have only recently been researching St Helena-related topics. Best wishes!

weird to think that that remote island in the middle of the Atlantic was the final resting place for one of history's most famous military generals

Great video, great flight. St. Helena airport has a very interesting history. As a Brazilian, a have to say that for us Embraer is a reason for pride.

Lets hope this sort of visitor doesn't spoil the Island and it's people, as they have done in so many beautiful places in this world of ours.

Perhaps, this Pepsi is the one to take on your first Space X flight/review? Though the GMT was perfect for this trip too.

Dangerous winds at the airport. Almost no airline goes there anymore. Too bad. Nice remote and nice place to visit.
