24 HOURS on a BOEING 737! Crossing the Pacific on the Island Hopper Philip: I had the incredible experience too fly the island hopper service too back in 2017. It was the luckiest day of my life because on that particular day it was the captains last flight before retirement. He made a long flyover over each island instead of doing the direct approach and after each landing we got a water salute. At the end he did a flyover of the Guam airport before making a long landing and letting the plane rollout on the entire runway. My family and I even got a picture with him. Will never forget that day. Hope that u enjoined ur experience just as much as I did. Greetings from Austria.

Dear Noel, thanks for this grande review. I had the pleasure to do the island hopper way back in 2000. During those times we were allowed to get off the plane at each destination n the stopover was always at least an hour. It was incredible. The most impressive airport was Pohnpei. I wish to do it again but surely in First/Business Class. Thanks Noel for taking this route for us! Greetings from Bremen to Houston. Marc

I'd MUCH prefer to stay in each major place for a night rather than just travel constantly. I'd be so relieved after all that time on a plane to stay in Guam for 24 hours, I think what you do is utterly mental. Family or not, I'd be staying in each destination for a night or so. Otherwise the whole thing just becomes a gigantic chore.

It is quite amazing to get (nearly? I expect you didn't get to Hawaii on a 737) all the way across the huge ocean on a 737! For as much as our Noel is worn out, these trips also put a ton of stress on the planes to do so much takeoff/landing right by the ocean! Both man and machine are workhorses!

Definitely on my bucket list as I'm pretty obsessed with islands. Midway is a possible but practicalities are too difficult, as only one trip a year, with waiting list, plus I think you need a US passport. One route that may not be there by the time I can afford it. One can dream.

I went from Frankfurt Germany to Honolulu. We Landed in San Fran first, had a lay over and continued to Honolulu. The flight from Germany to San Fran took forever! I also had my wife and my baby boy with me, and I can tell you we all loved the experience! That you Army!

As an employee of United Airlines, this is a flight I often work from the Network Operations side, and it is also on my bucket list. I'm happy you were able to partake in this experience and document it along the way! Excellent work as always, Mr. Philips! Cheers!

I'm surprised they let you on with so many bags (like from SB) although I guess it seems like maybe you gate-checked the big case? This is a pretty wild itinerary I'm glad the flight attendants were surprised at your craziness too.

I'm impressed United took care of you so well (hotel & etc, because it's not like their plane had any preventable fault. I guess clearly they let you book a too-ambitious schedule with them, so that is somewhat their fault.

I wouldn't mind doing this route at some point, but I'd rather spend a few days at each stopping point. to experience a bit of Pacific island life! Though I'd probably end up taking the Japanese flight, instead of the one to Manila!

Holy cow, quite a marathon there! Hats off to you for doing this. I'm glad the airline took care of you as far as rebooking and upgrades. I love the subversive filming when you were taking off at Kwajalein. Pretty clever there.

More than half of this video is facial close-ups (complete with nose zit. Takeoffs and landings all annoyingly speeded up. No prior research on destinations. This was a flight to paradise, but we hardly see any of it.

I took the island hopper flight in March of 1999 on a Continental Micronesia B727-200 and loved it. Still my favorite trip Ive ever taken. I really want to do it again but my wif would kill me.

Man o man Noel it looks like you took A train to go to JFK that takes forever rather than taking the AirTrain. You know what I am talking about if you have the experience in the big Apple.

07: 36 - Noel, you little devil - Im falling off my chair. someone collapsed at the back of the plane - must have been a cabin crew member doing a 24 hour shift and on their feet all day

Flown Chicago to Korea or Japan then to Bangkok then back many times. Uncomfortable seats, kids crying, people arguing with the flight personnel, Makes for a lousy time.

This is the type of video I come for. It's a rare route, it's in the back where the rest of us sit and, unlike the others, it continues beyond Guam. Well done, Noel.

Actually you did very wellyour attitude was great and laid back considering how long the flights were all together and the fact that you missed your Guam connection

You crossed the International Date Line you definitely could have claimed in the title to have spent 48 hours on a 737 and I wouldnt even feel clickbaited.
reply

It's funny they won't let you, as a tourist, photograph Kwajalein it's not like anyone who would be interested couldn't easily photograph it anyway.
