We finish building the roof of the tiny cabin and then move on to building the walls using the 100 year old milled ash planks as cladding. It was great to finally see the majestic ash tree being brought back to life in the form of this woodland shelter. Tero: Great weather for doing a bit of woodwork together youl not see to meny go at it without powertools although the jackery is a great bit of kit but its great to see two craftsmen do there stuff, fair play boys. The plants look great in the woodland, the dog is on to something in that bag. Would of been nice to see yous use some wood pegs for hanging them lumps of wood lol.

Love your videos! Great looking project! Awesome that you and your dad are building it Together! have you thought about putting a window/a piece of glass in the door so you can see out and to let more light inside. :)

Great wee structure - well done. You could use it for some overnights too I'm sure - and maybe we'll see the development of the shelter to an all-purpose wee woodland structure. So enjoyable to watch. Thank you.

If you can get metal roofing sheets, looks like you would only need about 4 of them or so. Thats a usual for our outbuilding around here and is more durable than just the roofing felt underlayment.

You can use some of that sawdust to make excellent fire starters. Melt some wax, salvaged from old candles, pour it into a container of the sawdust, and then form the mix into any shape you desire.

The overlap could of been a bit greater. You may also need to drive some screws in as the boards start to really dry out they may start curling. ( hope not) great effort guys.

Great job. Honest question though. Why didn't you bring the length of each cladding board out to the corner of each post to cover the corners? Respect to all.

the walls i like. i have nothing against the walls, magnificent. but the roof? looks like a grenadier guards officer in full dress uniform wearing a baseball cap.
