A Beautiful West Coast Road Trip (San Diego, CA to Vancouver, BC)

This trip begins in San Diego, but ends in Vancouver. This road trip is the best that can be offered of the west coast, especially of the Pacific Coast Highway. This video includes nearly the entire Pacific Coast Highway, from Dana Point to Leggett, with the exception of the stretch between San Simeon and Lucia due to road closure (because of mud/rock slides. The Pacific Ocean can frequently be seen from San Diego to Southwest Washington; after which, the road trip turns inland through Seattle and then up to Vancouver. I'd wanted to begin this trip in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, but I abandoned the idea when I found out the morning that I began this trip (less than 2 km from the Mexican border) that the border crossing waits were over an hour. States/province passed through are: California: (0: 00: 22-5: 53: 25) Oregon: (5: 53: 25-7: 42: 25) Washington: (7: 42: 25-9: 04: 30) British Columbia: (9: 04: 30-9: 14: 42) The highest elevation of this drive is 813 m in Monterey County at N36 0' 39. 1, W121 27' 21. 1 (2: 34: 59. The lowest elevation is at sea level multiple times throughout this video. With the exception of the detour away from the Pacific Coast Highway in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties, the temperatures throughout this trip ranged from 51-63 F (10-17 C) between San Diego and Vancouver. I recorded a temperature of 86 F (30 C on US-101 near San Miguel, CA, which is the warmest temperature of this trip. Day 1 of the real-time drive: Day 2 of the real-time drive: Day 3 of the real-time drive: Day 4 of the real-time drive: On another note, the Canada/U. S. border crossing of I-5/BC-99 is the busiest of all of the U. S. /Canada crossing, but I only had about a 2-minute wait to cross into Canada; But I had a 45 minute wait to cross back into the U. S. just two hours later

Loved the video and thanks for sharing. Below is a list of useful information for anyone who would like to go on the same journey. Please, address the following, if possible:
What car did you use and why
How old was the car at the time
What car parts, spares, and equipment did you take with you
Did you experience any car problems on the journey
Did you have any problems finding the right gas octane in Canada
How many people in the car
Did you have any emergency plans in place
How many overnight stops did you make and more importantly where
In hindsight would you have picked a different car for the road trip, and if so which one
What were the biggest challenges you faced

Bruh, California is so diverse in climate, when I see your road trip videos to and from California I saw you in the desert,
in your California to New York roadtrip video, it felt like Florida near the beach, and when you were going from Californa to Nevada, it amlost felt like South Dakota, and in this video it felt hilly, then tropical mountinous, and then forest like Oregon. By the way, ty for this awesome video, I really want to go roadtrip around California sometime.

Just an fyi for some one thinking of doing this drive. Do it from north to south, that way the ocean is always on your right and you can pull over and stop. Coming from the south you have to cross the center line and a lot of times you can't get into the look outs. Make sure you do the "avenue of the giants" . the oregon dunes, oregon caves are just a bit east but worth the time, santa cruz and hearst castle. don't just drive, expolore.

I know I am late to the party finding your stream, but I am enjoying the trips even though they were three years ago in some cases.
I particularly like this one because I have made this exact same trip several times in both directions, lol.
I am really impressed with the amount of data and information you provide in the corners.
I don’t know how you do these, or if you are still doing them, but I love the ones you did.

1: 35: 27 Lompoc! My best friend is from there, so I'm very familiar with the part of the video that went from LAX to Lompoc. Haven't been there in a while since he married a girl who was stationed at Vandenberg AFB and she's been since stationed elsewhere, but that means I get to see other areas of the country when I visit them. They hope to be stationed back there again at some point, so I'll get to do that drive again! :)

Any tips on how to record a video like this I mean besides using several biggest microSD cards available and turning off the "loop" recording feature in the dash cam, how did you manage to change the microSD card when it runs out of space How often did you have to change the microSD card Did you bring a backup dashcam just case one fails during the tripA lot of planning must have gone into this. Great job!

I know this isn't related to this but have you heard Hollywood strike where SAG-AFTRA, a 160, 000 member union, strikes against AMPTP which is a member of many studios failed to reach a deal This is because they want better pay, benefits, and limit or ban use of AI. This is the first time since 1960 to have SAG-AFTRA and WGA (ongoing since May 2, 2023) strike at the same time.

Another amazing video. I spent the last few days watching some of your rides (DC to Seattle and LA to New York) but this one has been the best for sure. I am from the Netherlands and hope I could one day go for 2 or 3 weeks to the USA to do something like this as well. Thanks for showing us your amazing country.

The West Coast is astonishingly beautiful. But if I have to pick an urban skyline or cityscape, as we all agree nature is amazing, the entrance to Vancouver city center through False Creek is out of this world. Vancouver has some of the most beautiful and elegant highrises in the world.

Haven't watched this yet but I am excited! Me and 3 friends did almost the same trip. We lived in Dana Point so started from there and only made it to Seattle. Oh. we also did a detour to Portland. OR because we wanted to skate Portland's infamous Burnside skate park.

I was planning on doing something like this. I always wanted to visit Vancouver B. C. and I was going to do it last summer but then the pandemic happened. Hopefully the borders can open up and do my own West Coast road trip.

From my European perspective, California is like Spain and Portugal, then Oregon looks; ore like western France, then Washington, more like the British isles, and then British Columbia. almost like Norway

I was born in San Diego. And for reasons moved a lot near the Seattle area. Back and forth almost every year. It's so nostalgic seeing like nearly 95% of everything I've experienced in a video. Thank you
