First. not a Jeep fan. whenever one came into the shop on the hook, everybody conveniently went to lunch. 'Nuff said.
BUT. I got a set of straight cut transfer case gears many years ago - for my '86 K5/Square - outta a Grand Cherokee in a labor trade for her straights to my bevels. from a customer who didn't like the sound of straight gears in 4H/4L range.
I've still got them in my K5. and a spare set that I finagled from several sources -----> enough internal parts to completely rebuild the whole transfer case again - but I doubt I'll ever use it in my remaining lifetime.
I've been mistreating that unit for over 18 years now, on 35R18/16s, a 383 stroked 350, Crane cam, Eddlbrock Lo-runner & Q Jet with a 700R4 that I built and a 2 speed direct/over Gear Vender splitter just for the rear driveshaft.
Straight cut gears take all the bad stresses out of the transfer case by the gears not trying to screw themselves out the end of the case under heavy load with some serious torque and 35 inchers.
I suggest you start looking for some straightcut gears for your J-thing. itll take a while to find them, I betchum!
They are seriously hard to find as most people who bought Grand Cherokees didn't check in the appropriate box on the order form. I believe that was the only source for straight cut transfer case gears. I could be wrong. but they are pretty much unobtanium. they are also pretty much indestructible.
If you REALLY wanna do something that I can get behind you 100% - get the J-vehicle

I lived in Colorado for years and my friend and I rented pasture out in the boobies there were a couple brothers were the local mechanics. Whenever a customer asked them what car they should by, they always said: Buy a Jeep. Under their breath, they always said, Our shop needs the business to keep our families fed and send our kids through college. Good luck with yours, for me? No thanks; -)

I miss my 2001 WJ now that I see this video. Had a lot of fun times in that thing. Mine was nowhere near as clean rust wise, thanks MN road salt. Other than the hydraulic fan that is, I agree that thing sucks but otherwise a great vehicle.

Anytime you replace rotors on a Jeep Grand Cherokee between 99 and 05 do not replace them with OEM rotors you will want to go with drilled and slotted rotors OEM rotors have a bad tendency to Warp I would also recommend ceramic brakes

Just checking out your earliest stuff with wj, more than a year ago, but just wondering in the begining did your rear window hydrologic hold up the glass?
Just wondering if those ever work properly seems that Jeep is so clean

MY JEEP IS A 1995. it was my first Jeep and I still Love it. If it tears up I just take it and get it fixed! But it doesnt break down often and its usually a pretty inexpensive fix! I am so attached to it 4. 0 6 cyl.

You did a great job editing the footage, especially the Special Delivery tie in because that wasn't even rehearsed. :) Have fun with the project and thanks for a great time in your home.

I still have my 2001 WJ. Have not fixed as much, but the list is long and. My wheels sure as heck do not look like those. I gave up on replacing the hubcaps.
