A injector coil suddenly opening after having current go through it for a while seems less likely as they are pretty tough. I would be looking a the wiring from injector back to where you tested it and then if a mouse chew or break from disturbing it and vibration, service the whole wiring area now you have it apart with electronic cleaner and brush and all that, make it fresh and also check the voltage as each injector is running to see they are all fed the same and thats getting all the way to the injector too. That wiring gets so hot and jaded and protective coatings break away, they eventually have to be serviced so all injectors can fire the same amount assuming good fuel pressure and reg.

The injector couldn t stand the heat. Me thinks about the time you unplugged it to the time you probed number 4 injector circuit it must have warmed enough to open the circuit so when ya checked It unplugged it went bye bye. How much do ya wanna bet after it cools it ll reconnect and start working again. Well at least you have it narrowed down to the injector side of that connector. Nice work Eric

got a 5. 7 hemi in a aspen got number 8 misfire. 210lbs compression, swapped injectors, swapped coils, confirmed with noid light that injector is pulsing. o2 sensors are working fine according to my launch x431. the which cylinder is misfiring in the launch tool show number 8 is constant misfire untill i bring rpm up then it goto 0 and feels like it runs smooth. anyone have any ideas?

Oh the joys of flying. Wondering if my connecting flight, that is 2 hours late, will actually make it. Hungry, cranky, tired and did i mention cranky. Then what should pop up but a new SMA video! What was turning out to be a less than good day was dramatically brightened by Mr. O and his fun with Jeeps.

Hot Soak will do the same with cam/crank/VVT Solenoid's and speed sensors, but you knew that!
Fuel flow cools the injector and when it soaks it gets HOT and the open/High occurs until the temp reduces to a point that current will flow once again and the angry pixies can run home once again

Could give the customer the old new fuel pump, and fuel injection service.
That s what my old boss did with faulty injectors. Then if it turned out to just be a wire or fuse, he d fix that and not tell the customer.
Full FIS for everyone! I don t work for that fella anymore.

I got a weird question for you. Have a 2001 ford expedition four wheel. Replaced a/c components and recharge. Now when a/c is on. It feels like its drowning or sluggish when accelerating from a stop. But its peachy when the a/c is off. Any idea what might be the culprit?

Sooo to test it when cold after you pull the intake how do you heat it up? Heat gun, hair drier, or gallon of gas and a book of matches? HAD TO EDIT, I forgot NAPALM AND FLAME THROWER, but most shops and DIYers don't have these on hand.
