Those struts will be shot in less than 8k miles guarantee it. I've replaced numerous struts and shocks for people same brand and all would say I just had those things replaced how could they be bad. Always use kyb struts and shocks. They last and don't fail in months. Oe spectrum is shit. Monroe, Gabriel, pretty much any brand other than kyb or Bilstein is garbage.

That used to be a long standing joke.
Muffler bearings.
But. just so you know Eric, Mazda made a car (think it was a 626) with muffler bearings!
As a ex parts guy, sometimes you see those jokes come to reality!
Supposedly, they smooth out the motion of the muffler during harder turns.

It's been interesting watching you bounce back and forth between battery powered tools and air powered equipment. Professional workflow is very hard on gear! I like air tools because you don't have to worry about failing batteries, and I've got air tools that are thirty years old, still going strong.

I did my son's Hyundai Santa Fe last fall, this looks so familiar. I just went to the Rock Auto, not a sponsor, and got 4 struts with bearings and springs with swaybar links for less than NAPA wanted for 2 struts without springs. His the right rear spring broke.

OEM Hyundai/Kia parts are horrendously prices. Put the Monroes in my Kia and both the new and the old were stamped identically and said made in Korea. My 2008 Kia Rondo had the drivers spring replaced under warranty initially.

My friend's 12 Santa Fe front springs broke a few years back, I thought that was premature failure but on a 4 year old car is laughable. One of them even punctured the damn tire. I see Hyundai never really improves. lol

Hey Mr. O: with replacing the spring, bearing, strut on both sides. your opinion on simply using a strut assembly on both sides? Lack of availability, cost, or personal experience preventing this course of action?

A nice easy panel to remove to get to the top mount bolt. usually have to take the complete scuttle panel off and wipers. right pain in the butt.
A simple design like a removable panel saves a lot of faffing around.

2x4's to install the new bearing? You sure you want to use, what is currently, the most valuable tool in the shop for pounding something? Those should be in the safe under lock and key! ;-)
