Toro Power Clear 721E Control Cable Tom: This was a fun one to see, Mr. O. I like how you torqued the side cover bolts to spec. The post-repair test drive, and cloud of dust you were kicking up, reminded me of Caddyshack, when Carl Spackler cleaned up his place with the leaf blower. And doing non-automotive work reminds me of Ivan's mini-series of JLG boom lifts, working on very derelict units, that seemed to be maintained on the run to fail approach.

Nice of you to help out a customer, many wouldn't! Now the words out you'll have snow blower repair on the side too!
These days I teach everyone with engine power equipment to check their oil before they use it as part of the startup. 1. check oil, 2. check gas and finally check nothing is stuck in the moving parts. you wouldn't believe how much hassle it has saved me. especially on machines with low oil cut-out.
BTW: Those Toro 212cc engines can take 20oz of oil after being drained (toro oil usually comes in 20oz bottles, compared to something like the B&S I thought the owners manual was a bit weird on filling procedure. but I included it below anyway for you or anyone that is interested.
-------
4. If the oil level is low, keep the machine in the operating position and carefully pour oil into the crankcase until the point of overflow. Wait 3 minutes for the oil to settle and add enough to bring it to the point of overflow. (Max. fill: 20 oz. (0. 6 l, type: automotive detergent oil with an API service classification of SJ, SL or higher)
Note; You may tip the machine forward (handle up) to make adding oil easier. Remember to return the machine to operating position before checking the oil level.
Important: Do not tip the machine all the way forward onto its nose, or fuel may leak out of the machine.

Eric, you truly are an honest to goodness mechanic.
Going above and beyond to keep your customers safe and happy.
I enjoy watching every one of your videos.
You don t sweat the small stuff and always get the job done the right way.
Watching you reroute that belt reminded me of being in elementary school because I was the A/V (audio/visual) technician in grade 3 and 4 winding the old film projectors up for the teacher. Lol!
Rainman isn t even close to being in your league. Lol!

Pretty sure you got the cable adjustment just right, not too tight, not too loose. The oil level should be checked without screwing in the dipstick, it will be underfilled if you rely on the dipstick level with the plug screwed in. For a machine that size it should take approx 600ml. Pretty much just fill it up until it trickles out of the filler hole, with the machine on a level surface and it's correct.

Well, if she dont find ya handsome, she ll at least find ya handy!
I dont advertise that i fix small engine stuff, otherwise i would be buried in that stuff. Wait! Maybe i should? Most of it i could carry! Hmmm.
Nahh, will save it for preferred customers, as i dont get shop rate for small engine stuff.

If you own one of those snowblowers, having a spare idler pulley and belt somewhere in the garage would be the smartest thing you ever did. Says the feller that had his belt snap on the first pull this year. Then having to shovel out his truck so he could go to a dealer and get a belt.

Eric O, shots fired! Lol!
Better go easy on the Rainman. He s a light weight. Lol!
Working on cars with no rust and when a vehicle from the North does show up in his bay, he has a meltdown. Lol!
I enjoy watching these two guys but I d rate Eric as number one!

The timing of that broken cable was fortunate for that lady. If she had kept running it with no oil she would have had a much more expensive repair. I am amazed the engine started on the first pull after being run with a teacup of unchanged oil.

I had the same snowblower when I lived in Northern Illinois. Literally beat the crap out of it and it kept going. Moved to the south west and don't miss the snow blowing back in my face.
