Buick Envision: Rear Wiper Motor Let's be honest, it's not just GM. How many things are built in the US with all USA sourced components? Not much. We did this to ourselves when we decided we weren't willing to pay 2-5 times more for USA made stuff vs. offshore. Especially true for young people today. Most don't care about where stuff is made, or the fact that we are financing countries that hate the USA.

I last car was a vw polo I only had it 3 months and on a very cold winter day I tried to clean the rear window but the pipe most of need frozen up and when in became unfrozen it after pressing the button the boot was full of water it was still under warranty so I took it to the dealer for repairs but before driving off I always checked over the car and the plastic panel was broken so I complained and a new panel was fitted so I don t now if they have them in stock or it was taken from a car in stock

had to repair the washer nozzle on the hatch of my 05 crv, took less than 2 minutes to have the broken part in my hand, no tools to get the plastics off, small pic to get the nozzle out. This crv still has not squeaks or rattles.
What Eric does here is help the diy guy to NOT destroy an expensive piece of plastic while at the same time, justifies the existence of the honest, family driven business. (not to mention the time saved by not searching for tools thrown in frustration)

Oh how I hate interior panels! Ease of assembly for the factory workers, pure hell for the poor guy trying to disassemble! On a brighter note, no rattling of the panels while driving on our great roads, and I do like how Buick puts an incredible amount of noise insulation blankets on those panels! Great video as always. Feeling your pain as I sip my morning coffee!

I'm not the first: -( I just want to say thanks to Mr & Mr's O for all the great videos this year, Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. If you ever get to Australia let me know. I have a spare rooms and a dodgy tractor that could use your expertise: -)

Buick Envisions are 100% made in China. nothing American about them except what the name Buick used to stand for. Encores are made in Taiwan and Korea. Nothing in the Buick line up (except Enclave) is made in USA. Nothing! Shame on you General Motors!

Way back in my past when I worked in Engineering for Mother Motors in Detroit, I learned that serviceability is the last thing considered in the design of a new car. Looks like nothing has changed in the 30+ years since I left.

Spent more video time just getting in the panel to work then installing the new parts and adjusting the wiper. I can't disagree with you about those clips. All about assembly speed and no thought about future servicing.
reply

What about using those pump up bags to put pressure on that door liner while you interfere with the clips. I know the auto locksmiths use them to keep doors sprung when fishing for the lock buttons.

Let me ask you Mr O. A job which should of taken you 20-30 min now takes you 30 min just to remove a panel. Does that job pay more in service data or is it the same because of a retar. engineer.
reply

My old 2014 Chrysler Town & Country had those metal clips, I only had to deal with them once thankfully. The Pentatick engine failed before I had to replace any more interior parts.
reply

Eric, I'm going to bring my Buick Envision, I E, pos for you to replace the rear wiper motor. I'm only 16 hours west of the PNY, it'll be a road trip, lol.

I hate trim clips with a vengeance. For the trunk lid which is hidden 99% of the time I'd much prefer it was attached with e. g. recessed torx head screws.

You're already at work at 6: 00 a. m? And you post a video first? Me, I couldn't sleep and checked my subscriptions and here's this video. Nice surprise.

I can hear the engineering team just laughing watching this video. This panel garbage started in the 80 s and I m glad I m not a mechanic anymore.
reply

Buick Envision is manufactured in China, so no surprise. We bail GM out and they have their garbage made in China. Should be a law against it.
reply

The engineer of the metal GM trim clips was either an A) disgruntled employee trying to stick it to the man or B) a mouth breather apprentice
reply

Thank you Eric enjoyed the video, But I'm with the other guy I can't see wants somebody would buy any Car are truck made in China.
reply

When I changed the speakers in my car I bought a box of those clips on AliExpress.
Easier to just replace them all when they break.

reply

Customer, why are you quoting me the plastic trim panel. Eric, go as GM why they used the clips they used that cause panel to break
