The question is, does the all-new Audi have enough power to propel itself to victory Let’s take a closer look at the stats. Starting with the S5, it’s powered by a 3-litre turbocharged V6 that can put down 367hp and 550Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and the car weighs in a t 1, 950kg. As new, the Audi costs around 69, 000. Alongside him, we have the new AMG C43. This houses a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine under the bonnet, and this produces 435hp and 500Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1, 810kg. It’s slightly cheaper than the Audi, coming in at 67, 500. Then finally we have the BMW. It’s the pre-facelift edition of the M340i, but the power stats are the same as the latest edition, so its 3-litre turbocharged V6 delivers 337hp and 500Nm. Power is delivered to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, and it’s the lightest car here, weighing in at 1, 670kg. If you’re looking to buy the latest edition, it’ll cost around 60, 000. Can you not do the tests that buyers of these cars care about How good they are at jumping red lights (although Matt tried that in the second drag race) How good they are at going down the wrong lane for a junction then forcing their way in at the last minute to save 6 or 7 car lengths in the queue Sitting cm behind the rear bumper of a non premium brand car even when they’re doing 75 in lane 4 of a motorway, then only being in lane 3 or 4 for the whole trip even if there’s no one in lanes 1 or 2 How easy they are to drive when the driver is using their phone but holding it down by their right knee when the cars have great Bluetooth systems, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto

Exactly. what is the purpose of a drag race Okay, to decide which car is the fastest within a given distance in a straight line. And once we know that I mean, all these cars are pretty shitty being German (the Germans used to make great cars, but they've been making 99% of the junk for 20 years now, especially the BMW, there's no need for a contest to decide which one is the shittiest.

You should do some stopping distance tests between petrol vs EV on comparable spec cars. Eg mini EV vs mini petrol, if something is heavier it takes longer to stop, only way around it is wider or softer tyres.
Being able to stop in the shortest distance is far more likely to save your life than accelerating quickly.

On top of having the best engine, looks and sound that 3 series has one of the best interiors of all time in my opinion. None of that tablet nonsense. Great quality, everything’s in it’s right place. Practical too. As close to a perfect car as you can get. Wagon is a 10/10.

If I could get into the mercedes factory, I would steal every single 2 litre turbo engine, delete the hard drives and burn all of the blueprints for this engine. they also have a 3 litre straight six turbo, what is this 4 cylinder nonsense which is going on

1670 kg for the M340i seems quite a bit off. Even the current M240 weighs 1765 kg. The current M340i Touring is 1900, so the sedan can't be under 1850 kg. The B58 is a heavy engine! With a four cylinder, the 3 series weighs significantly less.

bigger engine needs more energy to stop, cause there are more moving parts with greater mass and also can transfer this energy to initial jump. I think that is the reason why audi has better launch and not the traction system.

For the BMW it wasn't even close and if we take into account that it has a chassis and brakes that have been in use for five years and tires of unknown age and quality, it actually feels like it won the braking test too.

What is wrong with the Mercedes. It got creamed by a car with supposedly 54hp less and 200kg more.
The S5 is 200kg heavier then the BMW exactly and it does not have a Hybrid. Its an advanced Mild Hybrid.

M340i was and still is a killer, albeit, the model which is shown here is a early one (prefacelit) with older software so it sounds better than other M340i's which are currently being produced.

I think the M340i is more like 1760kg than 1670kg, yes I have just one like it and also xdrive. 1670kg is closer to my old F30 in weight, just getting heavier each iteration sadly.

Audi's biggest mistake and injustice they did to the S5 was give it less power than a damn 5-pot RS3, all because it wouldve hurt the sales of the RS5. The S5 should've had 400-410HP

M340i is the unmatched King of its class. Even though is the poder one. The perfect spot in the 3 series, because for the money you get an almost M car without sacrifice comfort.

BMW 5/8 gears 128mph Yh I’ll try now. 2019 car too and obliterating the competition are new cars going backwards I’m on my second m340i and not sure I’ll go anywhere else!

Damn new audi is
S5 is heavy as f#$k. 1st generation audi a8 4. 2 V8 weight 1825kg and new s5 1925kg. Also i would expect more from BMW against audi if its 255kg lighter

MERC is not worth it's RIDICULOUS PRICE TAG and that Audi too, how is it possible for that Merc to be that expensive but not worth it, as in the case of that Audi too.

carwow car comparisons should be brought back after all of the car stats are given with the inclusion of gearbox along with power, torque, price and drivetrain

The BMW has the best power to weight ratio so it being the fasted of the lot was quite predictable.
But the Audi is still the best looking - by far.
