Change your car with Carwow: It’s time for an incredible Porsche showdown! We’ve got Mat in the 911 Turbo S, lining up alongside Yianni in the new Taycan Turbo GT, and Jamie from Officially Gassed in the ES Motor-tuned 911 Turbo S! The question is, which will be the quickest over the quarter mile Let’s take a closer look. Starting with the stock 911 Turbo S, it’s powered by a 3. 8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can produce 650hp and 800Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch, and it tips the scales at 1, 640kg. When on sale new, it costs from 186, 000. Alongside it is the Taycan GT, which is equipped with two electric motors. These combine to produce 789hp and 1, 200Nm, but when the car is put into Launch Mode, the power output is increased to 1, 034hp! It’s the heaviest car here, though, weighing in at 2, 365kg, and as new it costs around 186, 000. Then finally we have the ES Motors-tuned 911 Turbo S. It has the same 3. 8-litre twin-turbo flat-six as the regular car, but it’s had 59, 000 of upgrades added to it! As a result, the power output has increased to an eye-watering 1, 100hp and 1, 085Nm! This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto gearbox, and the car still weighs in at 1, 640kg. With the upgrades added, the car is valued at 239, 000. I'm still boggled by the whole tuning world. Why would anyone spend 60, 000 pounds on a tune that only really gives you 4/10 of a second quicker than a regular Turbo S It just seems that tuners, while I'm sure they are good at their craft, cannot compare to the engineers at Porsche.

Stock 911 over tuned car all day, everyday. Love how tuners get so much power out of cars, but the conditions have to be perfect which as a consumer would annoy me if I spent tens/hundreds of thousands. The reality is, it's never going to be perfect so it becomes pointless.

That Tuned 911 is just too powerful to get its power down from a standstill, I knew it would mash the half mile from rolling. A lower rpm launch control would be beneficial mapped in to help it build momentum off the line. The EV done surprisingly good on the brake test.

The 992 Turbo S will be remembered as one of the best accelerating cars ever made. Tunning am not a fan of especially supercars. EVs PheVs are the way to go. This video shows the future which is electric. Porsche are masters of Engineering. The Tycan is a Beast.

Goes to show what an amazing piece of engineering the standard Turbo S is. It’s a lot of money but compared to far more exotic and fragile machinery from the Italians and Brits, the turbo S will just keep going.

I rather have a stock 650 hp 911 turbo the spend 13000 dollars on a upgrade that will make the car more unpredictable and cost me even MORE to resolve problems due to overpowering AND get my guaranty voided.

so lets point out elephant in the room, taycan beats sf90, it also beats 911 turbo s (even tuned-street-racer-wannabe 911 turbo s) it definitely crushes BMW kids. , can i hush some of yall EV haters

The highly tuned cars often struggle with consistency. Just a couple of 100 Hp more on the turbo s would be the repeatable sweet spot where it wants to make traction, not break it. Fun race boys!

To think that the base Turbo S with 650hp can hang on with the fastest Taycan and Tuned Turbo S just amazed me that the amount of engineering has been perfected with the Turbo S

The Taycan could be faster than a Saturn V rocket, but it would still be a goofy EV with no soul that no one wants to buy (see YoY sales figures and huge drop in value. yikes)

That tuned 992 Turbo S is MOVIN’ at the top end. Idk why it did slow on the drag race but on the roll, man, it kills everyone like 9: 09, that sounds like a plane 9: 26

Mat how much (extra) did Porsche payed you that you include (forgotten) taycan in race We all know that all EV garbage will go to history sooner or later.

Anyway you slice it, Porche has amazing brakes. The fact the heavier electric car was able to stop in a similar distance as the Turbos is nuts.

Jamie is hilarious with how worked up he gets. Needs to learn some extra science though, fossil fuels don't come from dead dinosaurs. It's a myth.

Not enough difference between the tuned car and the stock turbo s to warrant that cost. The Taycan is just boring although it looks sick.

Jamie's car is a beast but 60k of upgrades and the standard turbo wasn't far behind. porsche have made one hell of a car there
