Change your car with Carwow: Meet the all-new Kia EV3! Following on from the successful launch of the Kia EV6 and EV9, it’s time for Mat to get his hands on Kia’s all-new mid-sized SUV. Unlike the EV6 & EV9, the EV3 comes with a pretty low price point, starting at just 33, 000! But does it offer enough to lure you away from competitors like the E-2008 & Volvo EX30 Let’s take a closer look In terms of the design, it’s most certainly a head-turner! It’s upright and quite square, with Kia’s distinctive vertical headlight design and plenty of glossy black trim. It may not be as intimidating as the impressive EV9, but it certainly impresses from the outside. On the inside, it’s more of the same! There’s a set of digital dials as well as an intuitive infotainment screen on the centre of the dash, and the cabin is filled with soft touch and good quality materials. The seats may not be the most figure-hugging and supportive, but they’re still relatively comfortable. The entry-level EV3 has a 58kWh battery, while all other editions are equipped with an 81kWh. Those with the larger battery have a claimed range of up to 375 miles, which is certainly more impressive than many of its key rivals! The question is, would Mat choose the EV3 over the Carwow 2024 Car of the Year - the Volvo EX30 You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself! So, let me get this straight: VW is still synonymous with the diesel scandal, because some VW diesel cars delivered very slightly less MPG than VW sold them to do, but even the best current day fridge with wheels, sorry, EV, delivers 70% of the range when driven normally, 55% driven the motoring journalist average way! The world is increasingly mysterious to me! How is that not a scandal, these vehicles being all sold on one thing really, being environmentally friendly alternatives to ICE cars, which they absolutely are not! On top, EV fans can also just stop the nonsense about local air pollution as an argument for EVs: The MIT equivalent here in Denmark, DTU, made a huge decade long study in mainly Copenhagen and also other congested city areas in Denmark, to find out, what was really the data behind air pollution, and found out, that break dust contributes even more to air pollution locally than even the now hated and legislated against old diesel cars without particulate filters. Mind you, no new diesel car come without a particulate filter, so we are talking today 15 years old diesel cars only. EVs are also significantly heavier than the average old diesel or even gasoline eco car and therefore needs much bigger breaks, and it should be safe to assume, that unless you never break in cities and only use regen, and good luck with that, you also cause even more local air pollution than even an old diesel car without particulate filters! EVs are just virtue signaling GREENWASH!

I've had my EV3 for two weeks and I'm getting between 4. 1 and 4. 3 m/kwh, In January in the north of England. So I'm not sure what you did to get your figures so low. I don't believe my heat pump makes that much difference. Some of your other negative comments are about stuff the average EV3 buyer won't care about. My sons are 25 years old so I won't need to install baby seats, and 7. something to 60mph is fine by me. My boy racer days are well and truly over.
I test drove the Volvo, nice car, my wife preferred it to the EV3 but I couldn't live with the lack of physical buttons.

So you spend a lot of money and in real world situations, you were in town on country roads, and a duel carriage way, 202 miles is rubbish, don’t forget you have to half it if you want to get back home, I used to drive from near Southampton to Brands Hatch, about 120 miles each way, and go to Luton airport 130 miles, twice a year, etc so not much use, just normal travel, day out, I’ll stick to my ice car.

Matt, the cheeky chappy style is getting a bit stale now, the video was all over the place, production values not up to your usual standards, cups of water between James legs, climbing into to the bootreally Matt, you and carwow are getting complacent it seems, I think you can do a lot better, I would add that I went to another site to see their review as it was far more informative

5: 30 Kia cheaping out on heat pumps and making it a cost option (and only on the top trim level) is really annoying. It should be standard fitment for an electric car sold in a fairly cold country in order to not tank the range in winter. The Renault 5 is a much cheaper car but even the base model gets it as standard, and comparable Hyundais also have it as standard.

This is exactly what I love. EVs PheVs and Hybrids. Very impressive by KIA. Interior/Exterior Design 9/10. Power Unit 9/10. Performance 9/10. Overall Score 97/100. This is a Buy says AudiMan. The EV 3 is sensible, practical and usable daily. The figures it generates in terms of emissions and power make it a sustainable magnet.

JAECOO 7 SHS undercuts this.
Kia should be concerned that the Chinese cars are going to flood the EU market in the next coouple of years especially since VW has just done a deal to use spare capacity at the VW car plants to build the new Chinese cars.
No EU import tax either on these cars

Come on, Kia! Just do the decent thing & offer a heat pump as an option across the EV3 range instead of just the top trim. Or even better make it standard across the EV3 range. I, for one, wouldn't be buying a new EV without a heat pump in the UK, so that's one sale you'd be missing out on.

All this crap about acceleration times of zero to 60, 40 to 70 and breaking distances are irrelevant. The people buying these cars aren't petrol head speeders. they're family people who go to the shops. The performance is more than adequate. Come on, be realistic!

Guys, not everything needs change just for the sake of well. change. Bring back the old format it was much more comfortable to watch and videos/cars were better comparable. The chapters were perfect to compare design, practicallity or what its like to drive.

The melody sound that plays when the Samsung washing machine finishes its cycle is really annoying. There's no function to control it. I'm sick of hearing that melody. It's driving me crazy. Even cars are no exception to this.

KIA did superb job with EV3 just perfect EV for cities. Looks good, specs are good, would love 4wd version for light offroading
But I can't wait for EV4 coupe.
Hyundai Group is doing just amazing job

The production quality on this view is disappointing. Terrible audio, the go pro shots are sub par quality and the overall pace is too frantic. Far too many gimmicks and gags, not enough review of the car.

You kind of destroyed this car. It is not a beatiful car, it's not very practical, is not extra cheap, is not efficient, is not fast. And other bad things. Otherwise it is a great car: )
reply

Love the look of the car. personally i drive a ioniq 5 but had this been available at the time i might i've taken this instead if it wouldve been a tad cheaper overall yeah

An abrupt end to a somewhat manic video. And a Volvo EX30 over this Kia! Yes the Volvo is quick and apparently handles well but it’s like sitting in a cheap Tupperware box!

Why do you continue to keep referencing a link up in the right corner when they’re never is one that went away along time ago don’t you watch your own videos, Matt
reply

Damn! They must have woken up late and shit we only got 10mins to review this car before we have to hand it back surly. no way that’s the new format. Must be a one off.
reply

Matt. You’re the only journo who has been a bit negative Everyone loves it. Can’t feel the love Good call though, I won’t get. Perhaps I will get Skoda Enyaq.
