Jeep Trackhawk v Hennessey Mammoth: DRAG RACE

We've got our hands on the almighty Hennessey Mammoth, and it's going head-to-head against the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk! So how do these two compare? Starting with the Trackhawk, peer under the bonnet and you ll find a mighty 6. 2-litre supercharged V8 that can put down 710hp & 880Nm of torque! It s pretty heavy though, weighing in at over 2, 400kg! Then we have the Mammoth, which is based on a Dodge RAM. It may still have the RAM's 6. 2-litre supercharged V8 under the bonnet, but the power output has been dialled up! Whereas the normal pick-up can produce 702hp, the Mammoth has an output of 1026hp and 1314Nm of torque! As a result, it can hit 60mph in a reported 3. 2 seconds, and has a top speed of 122mph!

man i don't understand wjy you often do drag races with cars thath are uneven in terms of power, as clear example not only this one but expecially the ones with various electric cars, that as we know compared to equal power petrol cars are a lot faster, and you cannot justify it talking about the weight difference, 'cause as we know in a Quarter mile drag race doesn't mean anything, because is too short. So I don't understand whyb you do this, and I always fed up when I see it. However I really like all the others drag races expecially the one's with tuned cars.

Hey Matt Watson, Khathu On Cars here from South Africa. Please bring us a drag race between BMW M8 Competition and Ford Mustang GT500, if you already have this race please drop me a link.
Great video by the way

As a person that is not a fan of electric cars, theses two gas guzzling disasters are relics and will sooner then later be extinct. Big expensive polluting engines are sadly a thing of the past.

Mat might have won the 1/4 mile drag race if he would have taken the time to wash the truck.
The dirt increased the drag coefficient and the weight of the truck.
I'm kidding!

The Jeep was probably only 500hp during the 1st rolling race hence the difference. The difference between American and UK mpg is the UK gallon is bigger hence the higher mpg.

The UK Police have a Crusher waiting to catch that Mammoth on the road. Adding 300 BHP without upgrading the breaks is unlawful and dangerous to every other road user.
reply

3: 22 for some reason? It s because American gallons are smaller than British gallons, 128 to 160 fl. oz.
So much for Americans being the fat ones; )

reply

American Horsepower is worth about half of English and European HP and that s on a good day! Both cars are really slow considering their claimed power outputs!

3: 45 - No, you didn't jump it, mate. In fact, when watching frame by frame you did a perfect start, your reaction time must've been close to zero!

Guys, NOBODY uses your weird and absurd units like miles per gallon, so give us liter per 100 km like every other normal and sane person does.
reply

Well apart from the weight of that Mammoth, the aerodynamics is an issue as well considering such a wide & huge set of tires. For the drag race.

I'm here complaining about gas prices in my 12 mustang. I couldn't imagine the gas mileage these get. I would deff take the track hawk
reply

I've been close to a Jeep Trackhawk and it's soo big but that Mammoth makes it look like it's shadow because of it's sheer size

Forgot the Kilometers per Liter! 6. 8 American MPG = 2. 8909 Kilometers per liter, 13. 9 Am Mpg = 5. 9094 Kilometers per liter
