We ve got our hands on the all-new Tesla Cybertruck, and it s lining up alongside the a Lamborghini Urus! But which will come out on top - petrol, or electric? Well, let s check out the stats. Starting with the Cybertruck, it rolls up equipped with three electric motors, and they combine to produce 845hp and 930Nm of torque. The starting price of the dual-motor edition is around 49, 000, but for this tri-motor Cyberbeast edition, it ll cost you around 96, 000! In terms of weight, the Cybertruck tips the scales at just over 3 tonnes. It also has a top speed of 130mph. Then we have the Lambo. It s packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, and this can produce 650hp and 850Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter gearbox, and it s a whole lot lighter than the Tesla, tipping the scales at 2, 200kg. It also has a much bigger top speed, coming in at 190mph. So the Cybertruck has the Urus beat when it comes to performance stats, but will the extra weight drag it down? There s only one way to find out for sure LET S RACE!

That Plaid drive train (likely without the carbon sleeve) is just insane. especially cus it can go all day in a mass produced vehicle and easy to maintain. Even if Lucid makes something a bit more powerful, then it will not be as reliable nor as suited for the consumer market, as they will not be as repairable etc due to designs mainly made for the motorsport world.

Internal combustion has had its day!
And the urus is a thoroughbred race horse with 50yrs of training and genetic honing.
Whereas the cyber truck is just at the beginning of its training and just stepped out of the farmyard
It's ugly but so what. a car can be any shape.
So EV has it on speed, cost, power, tech, simplicity, reliability, weight balance

reply

650-15% transmission loss is 552Hp, that s 250hp/t. tesla-5% loss=280hp/t.
the Urus it s not a tue sports car, that v8 doesn t quite make sense. a diesel inline 6 400hp would be fair. Tesla is a good daily driver, having the simplicity of electric motors that nice acceleration.

reply

btw a considerable W for the Urus too tho, saying from being in an accident, anyone can slam that accelerator pedal, but it takes a freakin professional or not even that, to brake on time in some case of mishap in such speeds, so imo, practically, braking>>brutal acceleration
reply

I don't know why you compare an electric car with a car with a gasoline engine. Scientifically, an electric car does not burn, so it runs fast, but with a distance, a car with a gasoline engine has more power. Compare it with a Lamborghini electric or any car new electric
reply

I don't think it would change the result much but the amount of dust/debris coming off the Urus track surely was causing a performance loss. The Telsla appears to be on a good, clear surface and the Urus was kicking up dust and rubbish all of the way down the 1/4.
reply

For those who like cars, this is very sad and boring. I still believe in the future of hybrids. 100% electric is not enough, apart from the fact that they need new battery technology. The current ones are dangerous, both for the occupants and the environment.
reply

The drag race is fun, the cybertruck isn't. It's dangerous for people and other cars in a crash and so heavy it won't be allowed to park on sidewalk in germany. Cars over 2. 800 kg are only allowed to park on the street here.
reply

Utterly boring vehicle; that's all it is, a vehicle. It seems like it was built by people who never really liked cars but took an understanding from some survey that people like fast cars. Depressing time ahead for car lovers
reply

And then the curves come. and then the stopping power comes. and
then this car-attic fails lol and Urus wins like other 1000 cars in front of the first curve lol Seriously people use this car-attic for 1/4 miles? Lol

reply

When the Roadster 2. 0 releases, it'd have to be quicker than the Tesla S Plaid and with a similar battery size would get the quoted mileage from the event ages ago before the Plaid was even a thing. Now that I want to see
reply

The reason uve done a time in the Urus over half a second faster is probably because in the UK we use 99ron fuel and in the US I think its 95max unless you go ethanol or race fuel which makes a substantial difference.
reply

I agree Cybertruck is helluva fast. But i wouldnt trust anything until independent tests are run outside the tesla facilities with a Cybertruck not given by Tesla exclusively for testing.
reply

I have a few die hard Ford friends that just dropped 250 down to order one. The Cybertruck will disrupt the truck industry the same way the Plaid disrupted drag racing.
reply

It's safe to say any race at Tesla's giga factory will favor the cyber truck. Matt isn't going to pick a vehicle that the cyber truck will lose against at his host's HQ.
reply

That Cybertruck is such a beautiful and useful vehicle. And that Name, oh boy, nothing less than poetry.
Damn, there goes my sarcasm for the whole day.

reply

the first people to experience centrifugal force inside a 3t car without a crush-collapsible zone will be mad af, for 0, 09sec before turning into paste XD
reply

A beat up Urus they use to test mid 12 s is a really really really slow Urus and a big reason it hooked up is it s probably down on power
reply

Tesla: if u r serious, u can beat any Supercar with one of our Family Sedan.
and Now, u can beat any supercar with one of our Truck.

reply

In couple of years Matt Watson saying we re gona find out who s faster between the new Tesla roadster and Rimac Nevera
