Doug, look at my profile picture. That is a wx3 and the nose of the wx3 roadster. That picture was taken at Jerry Weigert's house in 2012. They are true Vectors and what a different owner used as the design for the m12. The m12 was not produced under the helm of Jerry Weigert's Vector Aeromotive. He is quite adamant in his disdain of the m12 as having a diablo powertrain was the ultimate bastardization of the original Vector Aeromotive mission. The story of selling a w8 to lamborghini to pay for an engine most certainly did not happen under Jerry's watch, if at all. I'd be happy to put you in contact with him if you'd care to learn more about the company as he is still attempting to bring a new car to fruition dubbed the wx8.

Gear lever mimics the design and placement of throttle quadrants on fighter and single seat military aircraft. Additionally, the fuel cap, is an aircraft fuel servicing cap. The tab is designed to lay flushed against the airflow. It should have been placed at the 3 oclock position to run flushed against the relative wind generated by the cars forward motion, instead of up, in the 12 oclock position. The circuit braker panel (fuzes) is the type commonly found on aircraft, and so are the air vents. What a cool vehicle Great review.

Popular Science Magazine. Attack of the Killer V's Vector/Vette/Viper. I think I still have that issue. And this car was the reason. Back then the new model was code named the Vector Avtech. From the moment I saw that issue, this was the car I have always wanted. In that issue they commented that the huge door sill was designed to be sat on. You sat on that and then rotated your legs into the car. Then you finally slide down into the seat.

THANK YOUThis was my all time favorite 80s supercar. Aesthetically, it looks like the car has held up well other than the wipers and the hood. Cant wait to see the driving review. Perhaps you can provide the price of how much the most recent one sold for. It would be great to know how its value has held up.

I doubt they cheaped out on the seat forward and back motion. They probably ran out of space to put the motors for forward and reverse motion. Or they wanted to use those third-party seat controls and they had to sacrifice the ability to control something, that was the logical choice.

The steering wheel does indeed contain an airbag. In the article for Car and Driver, it was highlighted as the 'first of its kind in an exotic car' as well as the cover itself being hand-stitched. Also, when you ordered one, the car was fitted to you at the factory.

Thanks Doug This is truly a supercar and an absolute rare icon. It was always on my personal top list, but there were almost no information or videos available beside few pictures. Also thanks to the owner I appreciated this video much more than most other videos

I forgot how much the front reminds me of the TGV. I used to tear off Winston Cigarette ads from the back of magazines because it had a picture of this car. And I had no idea what it was until I played a racing game, Formula One: Built to Win for the NES.
