The 2020 Toyota Highlander Is On Top Of Its Game

The 2020 Toyota Highlander is redesigned. Today I'm reviewing the new Toyota Highlander, and I'm going to take you on a tour of the 2020 Highlander. I'm also going to show you all the quirks and features of the new 2020 Highlander, and I'm driving the Highlander. Patrick: Not a Toyota fan, even though my wife is die hard fan, but I must admit that this thing might be her next vehicle. It feels more luxury (without being luxury) and has decent outside styling. 55k is definitely a little high, let's see what the resale will be in 2 years. (I'm sure, like others, it won't depreciate too much.

1. The Highlander is the best selling vehicle in its class, with close to 250k sales last year2. Toyota says their focus groups and customer base said Don't make it bigger so that it continues to works well in garages and tight city parking spaces. The Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade have considerably bigger 3rd rows3. The last Highlander, 5 years ago, sold the same amount as the Pilot. 5 years later, it outsells Pilot 2 to 1

My daily driver is my trusty 2004 Highlander with almost 400K on it, and it's solid and reliable and a great vehicle. It's been up some gnarly trails on two wheels and through too many snow storms to count and I'd only replace it with another Toyota. I'm not as sure about the new slip/grip AWD systems compared to my full-time AWD, but I'd test it to try it out.

Personally, I'm pretty happy with my Ascent. For 10k less than this Highlander, I didn't see anything compelling that would make me choose the Highlander- just a couple of funky features that would be showed off once and probably never looked at again. I'm very glad to see a PHEV in the segment though, and if I were buying again I would definitely consider that

How the hell did they screw up the refresh of the highlander for the last model year? You make no sense Doug they barley changed anything, there was actually like no design changes except for better looking headlights and taillights? The freaking shape didnt even change they just added LED daytime running lights to the front and led brake lights

That paint color is sweet. Like a blue/sliver. This thing is pretty nice I love the XSE model they just released Love the interior looks luxurious. The previous generation model I liked also agreed. I do feel like Toyota needs to add different trim models like a TRD or a TRD trail edition. Would be nice additions.

It is so funny that Doug can make a new car seem like its the greatest thing ever made; I want to go buy it immediately However, I know what will happen. I will buy this SUV, and before I can break it in, Doug will be making another video about the 2021 Highlander, and I will feel like yesterday's left over cold porridge.

Interesting that the Ford Explorer ST gets a huge bump in points for its performance (accel, fun factor, cool factor) but almost gets no penalty for the subsequent mpg hit (ie. 10 in Practicality). so the lesson is, put a big engine in your SUV if you want a good Doug score. Duh.

I really don't like the term crossover. There are truck based SUVs and car based SUVs. Calling the latter Crossovers make them sound like something more special than what they really are: station wagons and hatchbacks with slightly more headroom and ground clearance.
