Not sure what he's talking about. I test drove a used one that was in very good condition back around 1999 and was not impressed at all. The clutch was indeed very heavy and the gearshift was just awful. I don't think I could have driven it for more than one hour before my arm and leg muscles would give out. And for all that hard work you were rewarded with tepid acceleration. It sure didn't feel like a car with 300hp, my current BMW 128i with 240hp feels much faster. The interior quality was not befitting a car that cost that much and had a kind of home made look to it. When brand new I think the car was quite beautiful but it didn't wear well.

I can see I can seeYou're too tall for most sports cars Doug. ;)That noted, as nicely maintained as this car is, it deserves every bit of its reputation. By the early 90s, the Japanese were full steam ahead into sports cars with the NSX, Supra, 3000GT and the RX-7. All of these cars were just as fast, easy to modify and most importantly way more reliable/maintainable. This car didn't stand a chance, badges aside.

The Best Toyota MR2 came close to the 348 's performance. The Honda NSX floored it, but that one costed nearly as much. Still, being challenged by the Japanees does not equal the Ferrari 348 being a bad car. I would say it's a great looking design that happens to be quite fast as well. and I love the pop up head lights, big selling point to me.

I loved this car when it came out. Across the street from our local Ferrari dealer was the local Acura dealer which had just taken delivery of several NSX's. I used to see the NSX's parked on one side and the Ferrari 348s parked on the other. Sorry, but the 348 BLEW the NSX away in both exterior and interior looks.

Doug, why we never get to see some oversteer from you? Where's the fun from reviewing fast cars without puting them on a race track? It's just talking and nothing more. It's hard to believe the things you say about cars without showing real abilities Grow some balls, dude

I actually like this car because my older brother had the 1/18 model size of this car, in yellow. I bet by today's colors of this car, Ferrari yellow would be rare to see. Maybe someday when I have the money. If these are still available. I might consider this.

What you describe as quirks are in reality creative and high quality engineering. Your unusual and quirky comments are likely due to your lack of experience and understanding logic and good engineering.

Doug, it's a targa top you could've removed it, so you didn't have to complain about your scruffy hair that you should cut If you don't like these vehicles, then I shall suggest a truck or SUV for your reviews.

I think it's one of the best looking Ferraris. Great lines and proportions, especially for it's era. It's the perfect example of less is more philosophy. It is the iconic quintessential sports car design.
