Mitsubishi at the time was giving you far out tech features for the time at not a lot of money. You could get this in comparably priced cars. But then there was the drivetrain - honestly, wouldn't you have paid 2k more for a much more modern design 90 Maxima with a quicker V6, better handling dynamics and a 5 speed? Less bells and buttons, but of course you would and people did. Sigma was gone after 1990, replaced in 92 by the Diamante, an attempt to move further upmarket (near luxury now - an Accura TL competitor, which eventually spawned the VR-X. Mitsu's peak 'BMW' 5 series effort. This particular example is so very nice it deserves to be preserved rather than put into duty as someone's cheap wheels daily driver. Not much of a collector market for off brand Japanese cars but hope it finds a caretaker.

I bought a Chrysler Voyager III SWB in 1992. It had the aforementioned V6 engine (6G72) and I must say that at that time this was a very nice engine. Not particularly powerful, but comfortable and very smooth in relation to power delivery. The car itself was also excellent for what it was built for, but without people and/or luggage in the back, the suspension was rather hard and uncomfortable. Leaf springs at this time had been abandoned by European car manufacturers when it came to passenger cars. The Chrysler Voyager in Europe was produced by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria.

If you're going to talk about older cars, think first, open mouth after thinking. The shift lever arrows. how could you not get that reverse is pointing to the back of the car and the forward gears are pointing forward. And I'm pretty sure that you used the seat height adjustment lever incorrectly. The auto down window feature. all you do is push it and the window goes down. just like any other auto down window button. You idea that designers weren't thinking when designing the taillights is insane. I'm sure the back up lights are exactly where they were planned to be.

I had one w 2. 4 liter 4G64, auto-leveling air suspension, dark blue plush seats and a bit different switches on the dashboard but basically the same, and here in Europe it was the Mitsubishi Sapporo despite it had nothing similar with earlier 2-door Sapporo Coupe just the name. And yes, it was a rare, lovable, easy-to-drive and pretty comfy car in the 90s, I loved it.

When I was little we had a 88-89 Hyundai Sonata and it had automatic electric seat belts in the front row. For getting in and out it was the most annoying feature I've seen on a car, particularly for elderly people who we had to pick up often. I don't remember if it had any other quirks and features but it would be cool to see a review of that car.

My grandmother owned the successor to this car that was mentioned in the video, a (not sure of exact year) 2nd generation Diamante, I would estimate somewhere between 1997 and 2000. It was very well put together for what it was, just a shame that Mitsubishi really seemed to have lost their way not long after that car was produced.

Before i even started with the video I said this is the car we owned in the early 90's to mid 90. It was called Mitsubishi gallant in the middle east lot of quirks especially the digital display, cruise control, and the card style indicators. Thank you Doug, this video got back a lot of childhood memories.

Man I've owned many Mitsubishi's From every generation Galant from first to last. I own a Diamante LS and a Montero right now, along with a Outlander. If I didn't live in Pennsylvania I'd buy that car. The Sigma and Starion are the only Mitsubishi's I haven't owned.
