The best SUV hands down is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited with tow package. Locking dana 44s front and back, cummins diesel, V6, or 4cyl Turbo engine option. 4 to 1 crawl ratio 8 speed trans. Can fit 35s with no lift, electric sway bar disconnects. Removeable doors/roof. Full roll cage. The V6 can go 300k miles no problem. Aftermarket support is insane. The frame can supprt a 6. 4L Hemi without boxing it. Skid plates and sliders front to back. 4 Runner does not have any where mear the capabikity, options of the Wrangler at all.

Bought a 2017 new. Absolutely 0 issues from rattles, to recalls in 3 years. The thing. just works. We test drove luxury SUVs, Jeeps, Range Rover. I love that my SR5 has physical knobs for just about everything. No rattles or squeaks, no mechanical faults, no even hiccups. The ride is comfortable, and it always feels like it is ok going anywhere. Honestly can't even think of another car I would upgrade to. Also - my local dealer always offers me money to trade it in as there is such high demand on them and great resale value. Love my 4Runner

I work for Toyota in Indiana. We build Highlanders, Sequoias, and Siennas. I can tell you from first-hand experience that the amount of effort Toyota puts into each vehicle's quality is very, very high. We have multiple quality checkers along every line in the shop and the moment a vehicle has an issue, such as a cross-threaded bolt, it is immediately repaired. Otherwise our line comes to a mandatory stop. I'm an assembly worker for TMMI and I'm proud to say itSo it makes sense to me that the 4Runner would be the best SUV

Scotty, there is a car in Indonesia called the Toyota Avanza, and I hate that thing Seems 90% of all Grab, GoJek and airport shuttles use them. Some even buy them and put after-market parts on for fun. The ridiculous AC vents on the roof for the rear passengers are pointless because the AC and the blower isn't even beefed up enough to get enough air through them. The style is about the most boring looking car on planet Earth. It has a twin, the Dihatsu Xenia. Just venting.

Thank you for acknowledging that, Scotty. I have an '07, with 111k tough miles, that still has original the brakes, engine, and tranny that continue to perform BEAUTIFULLY My ONLY issue is the rough ride, due to having gotten the Sport Edition model WITH the towing package. And this truck DOES earn it's SR-5 moniker because it handles AND corners excellently My next one will be an '09 Limited, the last year of the 4th generation, the best of the lot.

Had an 80s Tacoma four cylinder four-wheel-drive back when I was in college in the early 90s. When my father handed me the keys it had 87, 000 miles. Give it to my cousin it had 137, 000 miles on it he had it for two more years after college well over 200, 000 miles on it the body was just falling off the frame he sold it for 2200 Some say that Toyota is still rolling around the beautiful city of Oshkosh Wisconsin

Hey Scotty you forgot to mention the 4Runner is great for towing too especially with that body on frame chassis gives extra confidence when towing compared to unibody vehicles. I towed a boat with a unibody 2007 Honda Pilot then towed the same boat with a 2005 4Runner and the difference is night and day and the best part is the Toyota transmission can actually handle towing unlike that Pilot.

From the features described it sounds like my 1999 Chevy Tahoe. I'm not a GM fan, got this used 8 years ago but it's still going strong and has the leather seats and chrome plated doodads. I added remote locking, TPMS, driving lights, and a backup camera. It's used for tow in the summer and snow in the winter. Parts are cheap. But I wouldn't buy a new GM product.

I love body-on-frame SUVs, but I dislike the movement the industry is making with them going towards larger engines, higher sticker prices, and less reliable. I feel like the Toyota 4Runner is the last V6 of its kind, and would buy one if they had better looking interiors (more wood grain, less Toyota looking matte faux metal plastics.
