Hey Scotty merry Christmas, I own a 2015 Scion xB with a 2. 4L 2AZ-FE and a 4 speed AT from Toyota Camry. Sure outdated but very solid vehicles and I love it. Since they recall the oil consumption back in 2008-2010 and they got that fix in late 2010 and early 2011. It has 47, 158 miles and still goin strong. I have already got front and rear rotors, brake pads with ceramic, and hardware replace, I have a air filter replace and cabin filter replace, the alternator works fine, the battery still got that energy supply, the water pump is still workin gorgeously. Spark plugs still nice, the AC works beautifully, my 4 speed AT still shift flawless. So Theres a few things that still bothers me, how can I know for sure for when its time to change the battery, the alternator, the spark plugs and if not spark plug wires, and should I drain and refuel the transmission fluid to keep it shift flawlessly? I know spark plugs last from 50-100k miles. And the battery last up to 4 years and they can break down after 4 years, and alternator last for up to 100k miles. Is it ok that I can change the spark plugs and alternator for 50k miles or higher and should I change my battery now? I own my 2015 Scion xB for nearly 5 years and I never had any issues of the battery but can it be a good thing to replace as soon as I can? And my mpg, it had 20. 1 mpg. Original was 22. 9, is there away to get that mpg back to 22? Since its stuck on 20? I know cold air intake system increase the mpg up to 25/27. But besides that, which part do I need to clean and replace to get that exact mpg range? ScottyKilmer

Hi Scotty, my name is Geddy. I was looking for answers to my car, and was trying too reach you. I became a new fan of yours. I have a question. I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra SV. I drive the car daily to work, but the suspension feels a bit hard. I checked the struts and shocks, they look fine. I did the push down car test too to see if they are fine. The car does stop moving immediately, but the suspension is very rough. I took the car to a number of mechanics because of clunking noises and they found nothing. What could be the problem? Also, when I drive on a cold engine, the RPM is high and there is no proper acceleration. The rpm drops only when the engine fully warms up. What is the cause? Thank you in advance.

I wouldn't trust the dealer on that Caravan. They'll always tell you its a computer and over a grand to buy a new one. They told me that on an old Chrysler of mine and it turned out to be the ignition switch not making contact at times and would shut down the fuel pump. In this case described in the video, get a second opinion and research and learn about the vehicle. Watching Scotty's videos the past yr I've learned a lot about cars and many things can make something not work right. Look for an easier fix first, then the ECU. Just my humble opinion. PS, my car was old and they didn't know if they could get a module and wanted me to buy a car on the lot. It's their game plan. Beware

It's not that simple, Scotty. The dynamics of these factories is that they have to keep building cars at a certain pace or the modern system of manufacture breaks down. I just saw a video of the new car graveyards where brand spanking new cars are stored, never to be seen again. Why don't they sell them at a cut rate to get something back? A cut rate price would seal their dealers fate, so no go on cars the dealers couldn't even sell. I remember some years back when a whole boatload of Nissans, I believe it was, got dumped in the Pacific Ocean. Modern globalist enterprises, and the paucity of simple, long lasting cars seem to go hand in hand.

Merry Christmas Scotty Thank you for your advices and instructive + funny videos. The only one thing I disagree with you is on the airless tires. Some companies, like Michelin, spend a fortune on R&D to come up with more than viable solutions. I think that these airless tires are the future, but they still have to be perfected. With the advance in technology, 3D printing and molding, these tires will cost, eventually, the same as the traditionnal ones, but last longer. My only worry is on temperature change and effectiveness in winter conditions, etc. Have a good one

Folks its not that Im anti-Chrysler its just that they havent made a true Chrysler since the 1970s its all a bunch of shi+ Im sorry but it is, First the Germans now the Italians and possibly the French, its really sad, my dad had Chryslers with over 300, 000 miles on them we took them on vacation and all over the place, The old slant six was bulletproof and some of their V-8s were legendary however they havent made stuff like that for years, If you want a big truck by a Ford if you need a smaller vehicle I would say go Toyota

Chrysler with the merger with Mercedes = trash Chrysler with the merger with Fiat = awesome Love my 2016 Dodge dart zero problems and 2016 Dodge journey fully loaded leather seats navigation with the 2. 4 l engine zero problems roomier than the rav 4 cheaper and better looking rav4 is overly priced and ugly. I also had a 2012 Chrysler 200 with 15, 000 miles added 60, 000 miles to it never had a problem lost the car unfortunately to a hail storm here in Texas first fca car we had and have loved them since

Isn't it sad that Fiat-Chrysler-Peugeot, FCP for short, just won't trim down the number of models they offer and commit to making a few, good quality cars? That goes for GM too. Remember the Checker Company, they made one vehicle, the Checker Cab. They were good quality and easy to work on. When I was a kid working at the corner gas station some old geezer had one, he ordered special, never had a problem with that car. He took it to us to change the oil and tune it up.

2014 Jeep Wrangler, 55k mi, has leaking front axle seals, leaking oil filter housing/cooler, and leaking radiator. When I replaced the radiator, my mechanic discovered that one of the sway bar connecting links was missing a nut I bought this vehicle brand new and it has always made a metal clanking noise when driving over bumps. and mind you Ive NEVER touched the suspension. From the factory they didnt install the nut to secure the sway bar
