Ford Australia was the first company to produce a coup utility as a result of a 1932 letter from the wife of a farmer in Victoria, Australia, asking for a vehicle to go to church in on a Sunday and which can carry our pigs to market on Mondays. Ford designer Lew Bandt developed a suitable solution, and the first coup utility model was released in 1934. Bandt went on to manage Fords Advanced Design Department, being responsible for the body engineering of the XP, XT, XW, and XA series Ford Falcon utilities. General Motors Australian subsidiary Holden also produced a Chevrolet coup utility in 1935, Studebaker produced the Coup Express from 1937 to 1939. The body style did not appear on the American market until the release of the 1957 Ford Ranchero. Wiki

I had a 1994 Toyota extended cab 3. 0L SR5. It sucked a valve at 54000. Replaced it with a 1996 Toyota T100 3. 4L SR5. at 62000 it ate 4th and 5th Gear synchros. Toyota refused to cover it because it was out of warranty at 60000. I sue Toyota motor credit and won under lemon laws. I then bought a 1998 Tundra with the 8 Cylinder they said it was totally reliable. It threw a rod at 36000 and I gave back to the dealer and contacted my lawyer again. I will never buy another Toyota Truck. THEY ARE PILES OF JUNK. I went and bought a chevy silverado 2500 and never a problem have I had in 320000 miles and she purs like a kitten

Like others have commented, pickup bed size and cab style are usually a function of your needs. Back in 2000 when I bought my 98 F-150 I had to shop all over metro Houston to find the configuration I wanted as a cabinetmaker-- extended cab with 8 bed. I think Ford offered a crew cab with the long bed in all weight classes some years before that, but now you have to go to at least a 3/4 ton to get that setup. Now that the crew cab 1/2-ton models come only with a 5. 5 or 6. 5 bed, most folks I know with these use them as a second family car or to tow a boat on weekends, etc. I seldom see them in the building trades.

I say this a lot, but we need to go back to no tire sensors, no touch-screens, no computerized parts that wear out True story: I went to buy a 2018 mustang Bullitt, and when I took it on the test drive, I hit a pothole and the touch-screen went crazy The air blew hot on max, the radio turned up to 67 and back down to zero, then the screen went whiteWe need a\c dials and radio buttons back I decided to keep my 08 mustang for that reasonIf Im gonna pay 50, 000 for a car, the least you could do is build a touch-screen that can survive the test drive

YouTube and Ebay saved me some money today. Bought two new front impact sensors for my 04 Yukon with over 232k on it. Air bag service light was on and decided to replace both since that seems to be the most common problem with these and with that mileage I figure Im saving a trip underneath instead of replacing one. Took about an hour and a half and that fixed the issue, no more light and driving safe again. Next up a squeaky drive belt pulley. Thank you Scotty and all YouTube DIYrs for posting how to videos helping people save time and money

Yo scotty Hows it going? I have a question. i have a 2004 gmc envoy xlt. I let my brother use it for a day because it was snowing a lot. He brought it back after work and messed up the trans and pulled it out from a ditch. He pulled it from the radiator support. Smh. A/C is out and trans switching into 2nd jumps and the trans feels like it floats in the 40-70 mph range. Is it worth fixing? I baby all my vehicles and i knew i shouldnt let others use them. 320, 000 miles on it. Only problem i had was gauges not working(before incident)

Dear Scotty, greatings from Brazil, i really would like to know from your perspective about the Volkswagen engine from 1988 AP wich came in the Volkswagen fox and fox wagon in the EUA. In Brazil we had many versions of this same engine in lots of cars from Volkswagen and even from ford, its is actually here the most reliable and the less expensive engine to work with.

I bought a first gen Plymouth Voyager with 85, 000 miles on it for 300 dollars out of a junkyard. It only took a day to get it running and now Ive put over 5, 000 miles on it, so it seems to be running fine for now, but is there anything I should be concerned about for the future? It has the Mitsubishi 3. 0 V6 and a Chrysler transmission, thanks and happy holidays.
