This Illegal Car Part Will Make Your Car Run Better Guest: Actually, the worst part of buying used parts is how much the prices have gone up. I used to buy parts by the bucket load and pull them out myself. Now most yards won't let me take any parts off a car and they want a fortune for each and every screw. Last time I found a part in a junk yard, the guy taking it off for me broke the part taking it out. I almost cried as I looked on helplessly because it was a very uncommon and hard to get part. Another yard had the part but wanted more than the dealer did. Lastly, in the old days junk yards used to replace parts that wouldn't work for free. Yes you had to put them in, take them out and bring them back. Now for 10 times the price, most yards around me won't replace the parts if they are defective. Seriously, used electrical parts, as is, untested, for top dollar. what can possibly go wrong?

Hey Scotty Will this scanner work on my old 1999 Corolla? I wonder what you think of the head light assemblies made by TYC, made in Taiwan perhaps. RockAuto, out of Madison, WI USA, sells them, 35. 00 US. I'm in Ontario Canada. So shipping by Fedex is 26. 00. so it was 64. 65. Much less than Canadian Tire at around 130 CND. It seems too cheap, but this part is going on a 21 year old car, it doesn't have to last like 5 years. It's only a headlight. Your thoughts? I drive about 60000 k every year doing food deliveries.

I know motorcycles have ECUs that you can ship off and they'll reprogram them for under a 100. The reprogramed motorcycles can have different engines or power band remapped. I've been meaning to send off my Yamaha FJ-09 to get the power remapped so it doesn't try to wheelie when my wrist cranking throttle syndrome. You should give those Yamaha FZ-09/MT-09 a try Scotty, nothing like beating the sport bike guys off the line.

Scotty, enter me into your contest for that scanner please, I am playing whack a mole with codes on my 2006 f250 5. 4. Put my second warrentied crate engine in last February. still chasing codes.

money saving tip. an airbag control module with no crash data written to it can fix your air bag light in many cases. And it can fit against back of leg with tube socks under your pants.

I've been working on cars for 35 years, and I still learn something (or half a dozen somethings) from each of your videos. Thanks for the help, and for keeping it honest (and funny)

Nice one Scotty, in the UK our tyres have production date codes on now. Shouldn't be changing every six years now even if not worn down now our authorities tell us.

You did have to bring up old tyres didn't you. Just checked the trailer tyre dates, and now I need two new tyres. Spare tyre in the car oh dear ten years old too.
