20 years ago, cars had around 1 million lines of code for their electronic systems.
10 years ago it was around 10 million lines of code. More than an F35 fighter jet
Nowadays a car can have up to 100 million lines of code running the computer systems.
The classic videogame 'Doom' has only 59. 672 lines of code.
It took 145. 000 lines of code to get the Apollo spacecraft to the moon.
I absolutely detest modern vehicles and their bad and overcomplicated computer systems.

Reving the engine up. sure, wear
But IMO loads, loading the engine unnecessarily, is a bigger concern
Like loading weight on trucks, or cars.
But also loading the engine trying to accelerate on high gears: this is where all bearings and rings created bigger pressure to their surroundings
What wears faster: a new type engine idling and reving up moderately on neutral, or the same type of engine driving thru traffic?
The answer is the latter

Speaking of good MAFs, and just about any other part, check your local salvage yard. Yes the parts are used, but they are usually OE and who knows why that car made it to the Yard. Also, its a less expensive alternative to brand new parts. Ive seen cars with brand new brakes and most likely had a shot transmission. You never know what you will find there.

About 10 years we had a 93 Corolla with the big 1. 8L engine and were going Yosemite national park. On the way there the temp gauge was perfectly fine. But when we were heading home the radiator cap failed on us so when ever we would hit a hill the temp would skyrocket. So long story short check your cap before you go on a long trip

Hi Scotty! Is it right in my Renault Koleos to start only one radiator fan when i start the climatisation or when the engine is not so much abused and when the things and days get really hot, both of them to work in parallel? As far as i know both should work at once no matter what. Thanks!

Hey Scotty, speaking of cruising on the highway, what's the most efficient speed to drive? 45? 55? 65? 75? I remember riding in my grandpa's Pontiac Parisienne Brougham as a kid, and on the speedometer, 55 was orange, while the rest of the numbers were white. Does that mean 55 is best?

Scotty, it is ether rust inhibitors or it is anti-rust chemicals. If you have an anti-rust inhibitor, you have something that promotes rust. It is almost like the word irregardless (Webster caved on that one, like they usually do, as they are a populist dictionary.

I'm not a fan of that automatic start/stop engine technology either. No matter what the engineers say, it's common sense that those engines are going to wear faster. They probably do it for a little bit of emissions improvement, I guess.

Good afternoon, Mr. Kilmer! What do you think about a 2010 Sequoia with 120, 000 miles? It's a single owner vehicle and looks close to brand new inside and out. If a mechanic checks it out do you think it would be a good buy?
