Why Not to Buy the New Mid-Engine Chevy Corvette Alistair B: For 5k a chevy 1500 up to '08 with a 5. 3 might be a better choice. Solid drive train, budget for new brake lines and some small odds and ends. If you get an f150 in the 5k range, chances are it will have a 5. 4. Be careful with those engines Go with the 4. 6 if you don't need the power for towing a lot. If you get a 5. 4, budget for repairs and don't run dirty oil ever. The timing chain tensioner and cam phasers are run by oil pressure through very small passages that get clogged easily, so use good oil and change it often.

You're clearly not slow, but you are ignorant af considering you think that the 94 celica is the best car ever when the volvo 240 has more cars with over a million miles per 10, 000 cars. that the Belgian engineer of Russian decent died in 1996 and had absolutely NOTHING to do with this car what so ever. The people wanted it, and Chevy made it. Yes it was his dream and he had his hand in many prototypes that were rear engined, because he knew the Corvette would never be taken as a serious supercar until it had a rear mounted engine. HES BEEN DEAD FOR OVER YEARS AND YOU'RE STILL BASHING HIM LIKE HE WAS THE ONE WHO DECIDED WHY YES I KNOW ITS 1996 BUT PLEASE DEBUTE THE MIS ENDINED CORVETTE IN 2020 OVER 24 YEARS AFTER I PASS you might be less biased than most mechanics, but it's obvious tou hate gm and you're upset that the supra is a bmw and this just throws gas on the fire. I mean how could you dislike the idea? Like this comment so hater scotty can see and this is the first time I disagreed with you, but you hate gm so much it burns u up inside that ford, Toyota, Honda or ANYONE

I think you misunderstood the question about key fobs. For the ones that are proximity activated (no push button required) they operate based on signal strength. Hackers with the right equipment can create a repeater that effectively BOOST the signal strength and makes the car think they key fob is closer than it really is. This can open the doors so they can steal your stuff from your car. Putting foil over your keys when they are NOT in use could help with this. A better solution is to just turn that feature off on vehicles that allow you to do so.

I can agree with you, no one should ever buy the first production of a new vehicle. However, it took years for GM to design a mid engine vette through that, with GM went through all of the recalls GM will not make the same mistakes they've learned, so to assume that this car is going to have all sorts of problems I do not agree. It may have a few but that's normal on a new production vehicle some kinks have to be worked out. It will more than likely have less issues then the new GT500 I can bet on that. But great video none the less.

I was a kid when Fiat hit the market the first time. My dad bought a Strada. Had a beautiful copper paint job. It kept popping out of second gear. Couldn't find a mechanic that could fix it or even say why it was doing it. I recall my mom having to shift with her left hand on the way to the hospital because it popped out of gear and broke her wrist. Had it for less than a year. My dad traded it in for a Dodge Omni.

Scotty is right on not buying the new C-8 mid engine Corvette. GM has a horrible track record introducing new car designs, the rear engine Corvair, the transverse front wheel drive Citation, and the mid engine Pontiac Fiero were all engineering disasters. Another red flag is they are building this car for 60k which is about 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of other mid engine performance cars which means corners had to be cut somewhere.

This car is built to compete with dual clutched, mid engined, exotic sports cars. You aint gonna compete with them running a standard stick. Period. I don't care how good you are at running through the gears, you're never going to keep up with a dual clutch, paddle shift transmission car. If you want a standard transmission for nostalgia, go buy a 6 cylinder Suckstang, and play with your stick.

Scotty is right about the first year model cause it really has not have real time road test in the open. Yes, it had testing on a track and within the corporation bounce testing and what about the crash test rating, I had not heard about that most important test. the crash test. they talk about how fast, powerful, and sleek. Sorry GM, you are not the same guys I once remembered.

if you dont want to waste your time, heres a summary of scottys videos about new things: Dont buy anthing new because he doesnt understand them or know how to repair anything older that 10 years. He has absolutely NO IDEA whatsoever about this new corvette and still, he still thinks hes entitled to give everyone a (shitty) opinion.

1) its a Duel Clutch not an automatic2) youre comparing a N/A to a hellcat. wait until the c8 z06 comes out. 3) that sold out rumor was cleared by Chevy 4) GM way more reliable than Chrysler and most EURO garage people like 5) youre a good old school mechanic, but get your vette facts right. Sincerely, A corvette salesmen
