Here\'s Why The Honda CR-V is Better Than the Toyota Rav4 Alex Nikon: The 2019 hybrid RAV4 does 0-60 in 7. 8 sec. The RAV4 2. 5 is a little slower at 0-60 in 8. 2 sec. RAV4 with the 3. 5 six cylinder 0-60 in 6. 3 seconds, top speed of 135 mph. 2018 Honda CRV with 2. 4 0-60 in 8. 6 seconds. The turbo version 0-60 in 7. 6 to 8. 2 seconds. Get the RAV4 with the 6 cylinder if yo want speed, otherwise not much differences between the two. The Toyota can be ridden off road, as well as on road. Making it a true dual- purpose vehicle. You didnt do your homework, Scotty.

This is sad, praising a Honda SUV for having a lower ground clearance than a RAV4. Forget to mention Honda is pushing their new trouble prone 2019 Honda CR-V 1. 5L Turbo 4-Cylinder Engine over the 2. 4 liter non turbo model? As if Honda magically fixed all the owners complaints with the new engine. They did, but only by recalling all the Chinese models, no recall in the US, yet. Honda sold millions? Last year 2018, Toyota sold 427K units. A down year from their normal over half a million sold, since it was the last year before the new version. They been doing this since 1995, how about tens of millions RAV4's sold And then Scotty rails against the trouble-prone CVT transmission in the Nissan. The CVT is only made by Jetco, and it is piss poor whatever car it is installed in, including the Honda CR-V But hey, as Scotty says, don't mind the CVT shudder The Toyota RAV4 still has a traditional gearbox, even for the automatic. But Scotty, here is why i like the RAV4 better. I bought a new 2018 RAV4 in November, 2018. I drove it for over 16, 000 trouble free miles until i traded it in August 2019. I received only 2, 894 less for my trade in than i paid for it Toyotas simply hold their value better.

My mom has a 2013 CRV with the 5 speed auto and it also has that shuddering problem (when it shifts into 3rd gear specifically. It also only seems to happen under light acceleration as well The car drives fine other than that but it is something to note. Also, my 7th gen Accord with a 5 speed auto also occasionally shudders when going into 2nd gear (but way less than the CRV. However, absolutely no engine issues with with either vehicleHonda makes very reliable engines, but their automatic transmissions are kind of weak tbh

If the belt on the CVT breaks, it does catastrophic damage, often causing the CVT to be replaced. The cost of replacing a CVT on a an SUV or crossover is around 7000-8000. Seriously, visit the forums for these vehicles. Some people who own Suburu Foresters have been quoted prices of 9000. Think about it, for a an out of warranty CVT replacement, your car is essentially totaled. Even if they are replaced, most places only warranty them for 12 months/12000 miles.

my mother in law has one of these, my wife aunt has the rav 4. I agree the crv is better. I have driven both. esp the crv. a nice vehicle. impressively so. but IMO the honda and toyota have a cheap feel to them. light thin doors, thin walls, the suspension isn't good, they both have a rocking motion to them. after driving our ford edge and cadillac srx the honda and toyota feel second rate. just my observations.

I still prefer Toyota as my number 1 vehicle. Especially the ones from the 90s. The Japanese built them like tanks and mines is almost approaching 200k. New radiator, New coolant, New power steering system and the A/C still blows ice cold. Original engine and transmission as well. Previous owner was a women but a heavy smoker. So getting rid of that lingering odor was a challenge.

I have owned both Honda ND Toyota, and I gotta say Honda's automatic transmission are not a great as Toyota but they are pretty fast but so comfy as Toyota are, my father owns a Toyota Corolla and that thing is more comfy than my Honda pilot. As a far as reliability goes they are both good but I more on the Toyota side since I haven't had many repair on my Toyota cars.

I don't know, I'd probably stick to models made after 2001. There were valve seat problems on certain engines with first generation. It costed a fortune to fix and would happen repeatedly. I think you had to keep adjust valve seat clearance or something like that. Better just to replace those engines. Nice little SUV though, fun to drive.

Guys, I somehow forgot which video it was in. But there was one where Scotty gave a website to see car problems listed by the manufacturers or was it mechanics. The video was about avoiding buy 1st gen car models. Hope you guys can point me back to that video. Planning to buy a used car and needed to see which has less problems.

My 2008 CRV was great except for loud road noise and faulty electric door lock solenoids. Honda ultimately paid for the solenoids after they were sued. My 2014 CRV had less road noise but a faulty TPMS system that could not be fixed, and I lemon lawed it. I wasn't impressed with American Honda's customer service.
