Here\'s Why the Government Just Banned All Drive Thru\'s C Bacon: Corporations will have a field day with that one. Efficient drive thrus are the largest dollar pusher for any business that is considered convenient (that was the idea from it's inception wasn't it, fast food or fast beverage. People don't have time or don't want to take the time to enter a business in our progressively micro managed society that big business and the government have designed it to be. It's just going to piss people off and create havic all the way around. There's not even enough walk in parking in businesses that have drive thrus in my town or most towns. The EPA Soy Boys and big business very seldomly mix together and it can't have its cake and eat it too in this case. If this law passes it will domino to every vehicle idle environment. Traffic jams? Sports events? Holiday sprawl? Have fun with this one IF it sticks. Ahhh, Pandora's box is opened even wider in our once again attempted Utopian-Society.

Scotty, remember when there was a question about Toyotas having accelerator sticking issues? I had a low mileage (bought new) 2008 Solara where when I wanted to accelerate from say less than 10 MPH to at least 30 MPH due to pulling out into traffic from a driveway I found there was a dead spot in the electronic acceleration gizmo and I did this every day leaving work. I became a hazard to the commute traffic that was at the time in a hurry to make the traffic light (timed) and it became so frustrating that I traded the Solara in for an automatic 4 cylinder regular cab Tacoma that seemed to have a live/hard wire accelerator. Was the Solara accelerator electronic v live/hard wire driven?

I agree wholeheartedly. I wish the federal government had the power to do the same everywhere. There is nothing more inefficient and wasteful and polluting that could be done away with. In the short run, I hope that the state of Minnesota will take up the idea and make a state law. I know the two Starbucks your referring 2, and I have no problem with them because of the traffic patterns on the crossroads at that particular location. However there is a Starbucks at North Braeswood and Interstate 610 that is an absolute hazard. The reason? The line of cars extends out onto the freeway theater and is a traffic danger because it interferes with rush hour traffic in the morning.

This is Minneapolis. What I think is likely going to happen. It's frozen hell there 6-8 months per year. So people will park, jump out of the car, hit the remote start, and go in. The business will have a ton of people in them, less customers will be able to be served. All the while the cars are running outside staying warm for either nobody or the passenger(s. This will make it worse all around, and a loss of taxable income for the city. Businesses will sue as you said, political powers will note the loss of taxes, and the law will be one of extremely few ever repealed, after pissing everyone off being no benefit or worse for the environment, and a loss for everyone.

I always go inside instead of drive thru too. I've always complained about the traffic lights in my area; so many and they actually create traffic. You can't drive a mile without going through 4 lights. Some areas are even worse. No kidding. The stop and go has to be causing so much more gas consumption plus wear and tear on vehicles. I wish these traffic lights would be optimized for better traffic flow and it would likely help the economy by reducing consumption to. The roads are busier than they've ever been too.

I'm deaf in the left ear. So I just go inside. I don't like going to the drive-thru. Unless I really have too. Plus when you drive an old truck like mine. It can be sometimes hard to talk over the sound of the engine. I mean you can turn it off. But that can feel like a mistake. Only because you don't know what's going to break when you turn the key. And the last thing you need is to break down in line. In front of a bunch of hungry people. Trying to get a meal or whatever.

Another sick law made b/c of the farce of global warming. Google Game Over, the IPCC quietly admits defeat. Download and read the UN's own compiled report on global warming and how, what you will never hear in the media, they found out its a farce. They even took a vote to see if they should keep pushing it. They decided to - surprise surprise b/c of the money and control it provides.

I stopped going in the drive-thru unless there is no line. I park and go inside. My gas mileage went up significantly. You waste so much gas in drive-thrus and most people don't even realize it. Government needs to stay out of it though. Too many regulations on businesses already. These laws create an uneven play field with older businesses that can still offer drive thru convenience.

I bought a new 2001 Solara V6. I was told that it was originally supposed to be sold as a Lexus but they sold it as a 2 door Camry. The 1st gen had shared almost no parts with the Camry. I had 13 problem free years and sold the car for almost 1/2 what I paid for it. These cars are still in high demand and hold their value. To bad they don't make them anymore.

the dodge dart is just a rebadged neon with more bells and whistles which i thought was sad. when i heard they were coming out with the darts again i was hoping they would do the same thing they did with the challenger because anybody who knows about the old darts knows about the old 440 dart which was a drag pack for its time
