Buying This Truck is a Huge Mistake dcl97: Go check f150 forums if you think the 5. 0 is more reliable. It is, by a significant margin, the most problematic engine you can get in the f-150 right now. I ordered a 2019 with the 5. 0 before checking the forums thinking it would be more reliable, but discovered I was horribly wrong. I went and talked with the service techs at my dealer and they all warned against it, and recommend I re order with either the NA V6 or the 2. 7 Ecoboost.

we have them in Ambulances. heres the problem: The one we run 24/7/365, is a beastThe main deal is that it has a TON OF SENSORS when the check engine light is on, it disables the AC. let me tell ya. the check engine light is on ALL THE TIMEwe run a 2. 5 ecoboost and it has 126, 000 miles on it. it hauls butt. if we floor it, it will peel out and it WILL out run most sports cars. HEHEHE. (insert laughing horse meme here)its been small problems like dirty MAP, MAF sensor or an ignition coil. We run it about 100 miles a day. THE REAL PROBLEM is the transmission and let me tell ya, THEYRE NOT MAKING ANY. atleast thats what we were told, so we have to rebuild them and switch them out. we have gone through about 4 transmissions in a fleet of 30. thats bad. theyre all 2015 or newer

I still wouldn't buy the Ecoboost regardless of how many miles I put on it for a year. I would only buy the V8 Ford trucks and I will never buy any brand new car or truck because of high depreciation of value. I would rather lose 2, 000 on a car than 20, 000 from purchase price of three years of ownership. The only time I would buy a brand new car is when the car is expected to increase in value after you drive it off the lot like the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon did. The Dodge Demon is worth six figures now and back in 2018, it was originally five figures from dealerships who didn't markup their prices excessively.

Ecoboost is not a long lasting engine. escapes edges fusions explorers some have twin turbo aka ecoboost when has Ford made a good engine very far in between. junk in my opinion, edge has a internal water pump on the gen 1 and gen 2 and their all going to fail at some point isn't that a 2000-3000 job. Ford is going out of business one day for screwing over the public

I had a 2015 nissan altima sv until last week today, transmission started having early warning signs it was going bad right after it hit 102k miles. Got out from under that car and got myself a Honda accord that was one year newer with 60k less mileage. If anyone has these newish Altima, i highly recommend getting a new car before youre upside down on the vehicle

I've been recently working on more Ford cars/trucks with the Eco Boost engines. After all the nonsense I have seen, I would definitely not want one used. Too many people don't take care of their cars well (regular service especially. Those engine resemble Euro designs quite a bit and we all know Euro cars don't hold up. I also work on way too many Euro cars myself

I really like my 2017 xlt 3. 5eco 10 speed. I only put on about 10k yr and change the oil every 5k and no tuners. So far I love it, 21 mpg combined with 470ft Lbs on tap. Transmission is amazing but I'm sure if anything happens, the cost to repair it will be amazing. Plan to keep it for 12-15 years. By then, the electric Trucks will drive themselves

Does anyone miss the days when cars and trucks had very little computer crap in them? Like just a stereo and a place to plug your phone in and that was it? Nowadays, everyones vehicles have gotta have built in navigation, back up camera, heated and cooled seats etc. ugh Just give me a car with a radio with an phone jack and air conditioning.

Just be cautious with the 5. 0 V8 F-150 2018 and newer they've been having a lot of issues with oil consumption, timing chain rattles, engine knocking there's also a lot of TSB out right now addressing these and other issues I have a buddy that works at the Ford dealership he's already had to replace a few 5. 0 V8 engines.

I have a transmission cooler on my 2009 Altima with 170, 000 on the original cvt. The oil still goes through the radiator after the trans cooler to bring it up to operation temperature. Definitely not saying its a good car but it keeps the oil from burning up and turning brown so quickly, still working. for now.
